Juventus vs Como Prediction: Bet on a low scoring first half

The opening round of matches in the 24/25 season over in Italy ends with Juventus taking on Como in what is surely one of the most intriguing matches of the weekend.

As Serie A's opening round concludes, Juventus hosts Como at Allianz Stadium in a clash brimming with tradition and ambition.  

For Juventus, this fixture marks not just the start of the season but a new chapter under Thiago Motta's management.  

The Old Lady, who finished third last season, seeks a fresh approach, with Motta's dynamic tactics replacing Massimiliano Allegri's more conservative style. Pre-season has been a mixed bag for Juventus, reflecting both promise and growing concerns as they adapt to a more fluid style of play. 

Como, making their Serie A return after 21 years, are managed by World Cup winner Cesc Fàbregas. With high-profile signings like Andrea Belotti and Raphael Varane, Como aims to establish themselves as a competitive force.  

Despite a recent Coppa Italia exit on penalties, Como's aspirations are evident as they face Italy's most successful club.

Juventus's preparations have been marked by significant changes and an incomplete squad.  

While new acquisitions like Douglas Luiz, Khéphren Thuram, and Michele Di Gregorio offer promise, the squad is still a work in progress. Dusan Vlahovic, with a strong record against newly promoted sides (16 goals in 19 games), will be pivotal in attack. 

The team is expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the Serbian leading the attack supported by Kenan Yildiz, Timothy Weah, and Douglas Luiz in midfield. 

Como face their own challenges with Raphael Varane sidelined due to a knee injury. Despite this setback, Fabregas is likely to deploy a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Andrea Belotti leading the attack supported by Strefezza, Cutrone, and Da Cunha.

Juventus are clear favourites at 1/3, highlighting their superior squad and solid home form, having remained unbeaten in 18 of their last 19 home matches.  

Como, as the underdog, is priced at 9/1, with the draw at 4/1. 

With Juventus's attacking strength and Como's defensive vulnerabilities, betting on over 2.5 goals at 4/5 is appealing.  

Juventus finished three of their last four matches last season with both teams scoring, while Como consistently surpassed 1.5 goals in 13 of their last 14 Serie B matches. The odds for both teams to score are 6/5, reflecting potential defensive issues for the Lariani.
