Slovenia vs Armenia Prediction: Stroll in the park for Slovenians

One of the teams in England's European Championship group this summer, Slovenia, begin their preparations for the summer tournament in Germany with a friendly international against Armenia on Tuesday (KO, 17:00).
Taking place at Stadion Stozice in Ljublijana, the match is the first-ever between these nations in football, and you can build up to the action by reading my Slovenia vs Armenia prediction below.
Team News
One of the biggest headlines from Slovenia's preliminary Euro 2024 squad was the inclusion of former Atalanta star Josip Ilicic, who has been out of the international scene since November 2021 but is back in the picture after an encouraging campaign with Maribor.
The 36-year-old could line up in attack alongside RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, who has been attracting interest from Arsenal according to recent reports.
Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak remains a consistent presence between the sticks for Slovenia, who can also count on 11-goal international Andraz Sporar.
Armenia's most famous footballer, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, retired from international football in March 2022, and that has left a big talent hole in their squad, which is mainly made up from players from the domestic league.

Slovenia are 4/11 to triumph on Tuesday, giving them an implied win probability of 73.3%, while Armenia are 15/2, or an 11.8% chance, to cause an upset.
The draw can be backed at 18/5, both teams to score at 1/1, and over 2.5 goals at 8/11.
Slovenia to win to nil @ 11/10
Slovenia kept four clean sheets during their qualification campaign and conceded just nine times in 10 matches to record the best defensive record in Group H.
Since beating Kazakhstan 2-1 in their final group game in November, Slovenia have played three international friendlies, though the first - a 1-0 win against the USA - pitted a couple of weakened sides against each other in a January friendly during the middle of the European club football calendar.
Of more relevance are the two matches they played against Malta and Portugal in March. Against the former, Slovenia were held to a 2-2 draw, but they recovered from that mini embarrassment to beat Portugal 2-0 five days later, with the attacking threat of Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix snuffed out in Ljubljana.
Including the USA game, that's now five clean sheets in their last eight internationals, and they will be confident of keeping out an Armenia side that has blanked in four of their last seven games.
Kosovo, Croatia (x2) and Latvia have all beaten them to nil in the last nine months, and there is a clear lack of goals in the current squad.
Eduard Spertsyan has the most (four) out of the current crop, with two of the three strikers in the squad - Artur Miranyan and the uncapped Gevorg Tarakhchyan - yet to score for their nation.
Benjamin Sesko first goalscorer @ 7/2
What an end to the season it was for the 21-year-old, who struck in Leipzig's last seven games of the season to make it 14 goals in 31 appearances in his maiden Bundesliga campaign.
Sesko also bagged a couple in both the DFB Pokal and Champions League, taking him to 18 goals since joining from Red Bull Salzburg last summer.
He enjoyed a fruitful Euros qualification campaign too, top-scoring for his nation with five goals, and he found the net during the last international camp in a 2-2 draw with Malta.
Sesko is 23/20 favourite to score anytime on Tuesday, but the 7/2 for him to fire first is where the value lies. I expect him to start against the Armenians after last playing on May 18, and he struck the first goal of the game in two of his last five starts for Leipzig.
