Saturday BTTS Tips: 12/1 fivefold for the 3PM matches

A fortnight ago we were winner winner, chicken dinner, last week however it was, shall we say less good. Four of the five matches we put up did not result in both teams scoring but sometimes, missing big feels slightly better than losing thanks to one solitary leg.
For our Saturday BTTS Tips this weekend, it is four games from the EFL plus a brief sojourn to Hampden Park for a price just north of 12/1...
Saturday BTTS Tips
Leg 1 - BTTS Yes in Blackburn Rovers vs Plymouth Argyle @ 8/13
We are going solely with the statistics this week, with five selections where one of the two teams involved are running at least a six-game streak for this bet.
Our first selection comes from Ewood Park, where supporters have seen both teams score in every match played at the venue since a 0-2 home defeat to Leeds United back on December 9. There have been 11 games since that day, eight in the league along with three in the cup and in each one of them, both sets of fans have celebrated a goal at least once.
83% of league games at the 31,367 capacity stadium have resulted in this bet being a winner in the 23/24 season. This is joint-top in the division, with only Portman Road being on the same level.
Plymouth are rocking a 56% record for BTTS away from Home Park, which is better than half of their games seeing this bet coming in. Statistically, this is a good play.
Leg 2 - BTTS Yes in Barnsley vs Lincoln City @ 5/6
Next up is a trip to Oakwell, where promotion-chasing Barnsley are having a few issues defensively. The Tykes might still be in the thick of the automatic promotion places but you have to go all the way back to January 23 for BTTS not to have been a winner, that is eight-straight matches where Neill Collins’ side have both scored and conceded.
When you narrow the focus just to home matches, you can take that January 23 date and throw it in the bin, replacing it with November 23.
That is an awfully long time for this bet to keep being a winner and in the 18 games in total during that span, just the 1-0 home win against 10-man Wycombe on January 23 would have been a loser for this bet.
Lincoln come into this one undefeated since New Year's Day and probably still with an outside chance of making the play-offs. Betting on Barnsley for BTTS has been a very profitable play in the past three months, so we’ll roll with what the stats say.
Leg 3 - BTTS Yes in Stevenage vs Fleetwood Town @ 5/6
It is not often that a relegation-threatened team are one of the best for Both Teams to Score, yet the stats in this instance say otherwise. This takes us to our third selection of the day for our Saturday BTTS Tips column and that is Fleetwood’s trip to Stevenage.
Charlie Adam has taken on the challenge of trying to keep the Cod Army in EFL League One and one thing he’s clearly been able to do is make them more potent up top. Fleetwood are the top scorers among the sides fighting for survival but they also have the joint-worst defensive record. A recipe for BTTS backers!
It is now six-straight matches where this bet has been a winner and get this, the visitors on Saturday have actually scored in every game since a 0-1 home defeat to top-of-the-table Portsmouth back in late January. They are also rocking a very tasty 72% record for BTTS in matches on their travels this campaign.
Stevenage on the other hand are not a side we’d often recommend playing in this particular column. Any time a team are under 50% for the season, it comes with a short, sharp intake of breath. In their past four league matches, a grand total of three goals have been scored. That is something to be concerned about.
So it is simply a question of do we prefer the red-hot form of Fleetwood or the ice-cold streak of Stevenage? I’m going with the former.
Leg 4 - BTTS Yes in Sutton United vs Grimsby Town @ 8/13
Down in the madness that EFL League Two provides, in the south west London suburbs, we have a streak of note.
Sutton United have recorded BTTS in six-straight matches at Gander Green Lane, which stretches back all the way to the weekend before Christmas.
In that span, they have managed to find the back of the net against promotion-chasing Wrexham and Barrow along with four other sides. Not bad for a team rock bottom of the Football League. In addition, they have the worst defensive record in the division.
Two-thirds of matches at the ground have resulted in BTTS being a winner so far this season. When you throw in Grimsby’s 63% record on the road, plenty of reasons to think that this scrap of two poor teams will result in goals at both ends.
Leg 5 - BTTS Yes in Queen’s Park vs Partick Thistle @ 1/2
We finish up our fivefold north of the border, where two of the top-three teams for this statistic in the Scottish Championship meet at Hampden Park on Saturday afternoon.
It is the visitors whose streak has got them noticed, with six-straight games resulting in this bet being a winner and in addition to that, Kris Doolan’s side have themselves found the back of the net in every single match they’ve played so far in the calendar year. That is a run worth noting.
Stat wise, they are at 73% for the season as a whole, with Queen’s Park not too far behind at 67%. With both teams at two-thirds or better for the campaign so far, that indicates this one is a play.
The odds of just north of 12/1 for this fivefold comes out as an 8% chance once we convert the betting into a percentage. This means that the traders think all five of these matches resulting in BTTS would happen roughly once in every 12 times these sets of games took place. I think it is a better chance than that of happening.
