The FA Cup returns in midweek with Wednesday night hosting a mouth-watering, all-Premier League clash between Wolves and Brighton at Molineux.

Gary O’Neil’s men put an end to their two-game losing streak at home with victory over Sheffield United at the weekend, and the Midlands outfit have already seen off Brentford in this competition previously.

Brighton meanwhile are used to playing on the road in this tournament with this their third trip away from the AMEX, with wins at Chris Wilder’s Blades as well as Championship outfit Stoke City in the previous rounds.

Wolves vs Brighton Betting Tips

  • Brighton to win @ 6/4
  • Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13

Team News

Wolves remain without striker Matheus Cunha as he recovers from a hamstring injury, with no return date currently set for the Brazilian.

He remains the only absentee for Gary O'Neil, with Hwang Hee-Chan's warm-up injury before the clash with Sheffield United not as serious as first thought.

Brighton will be without Billy Gilmour as he begins his three-match suspension after his red card against Everton last time out.

There are also multiple injury issues for Roberto De Zerbi to contend with, as Kaoru Mitoma (back), Jack Hinshelwood (foot), Solly March (knee), Joao Pedro and James Milner (both thigh) are all expected to miss out.

Match Odds

The odds suggest a close encounter is expected at Molineux, with the hosts at 8/5 and Brighton at 6/4.

The draw is 13/5, while the likeliest goalscorer in Wednesday's encounter is Hwang Hee-Chan for Wolves, who has odds of 7/5 to score at any time.

Brighton to win @ 6/4

Wolves have been a surprise package this season, with Gary O'Neil's men currently ninth and just one point off of a European spot.

That coveted position of seventh is currently occupied by their cup opponents Brighton and the Seagulls may have enough firepower to edge what is sure to be a tight contest.

Brighton have won three of their last five away games in all competitions, with two of those coming in the FA cup, and they have scored 14 goals across the three victories.

This fine goalscoring form is likely to trouble a Wolves back line who have kept just one clean sheet at Molineux in their last four games in all competitions, with their sole shutout coming against bottom-of-the-league Sheffield United.

Brighton to win at 6/4

Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13

Brighton have been regular entertainers once again this season, and recent outings would suggest another goalfest is in the offing with five of their last six rewarding backers in the over 2.5 goals market.

The same can be said for three of the last five games for Wolves, who have also seen at least three goals in 10 of their 15 games at Molineux this season.

That includes their league meeting there in August where Brighton ran rampant in a 4-1 victory and, while a similarly comprehensive victory may be unlikely, another entertaining free-scoring encounter could well be on the cards.

Over 2. 5 goals at 8/13
