Saturday Over 2.5 Goals Tips: 15/1 sixfold for December 16

Our Over 2.5 Goals column last Saturday looked strong with half an hour to go but Hereford let us down at home against South Park FC and Aveley's game also fell just short.
This week we go six-games deep with a 15/1 price as of the time of writing...
Over 2.5 Goals Tips:
- Back Over 2.5 Goals in Newcastle United vs Fulham @ 8/11
- Back Over 2.5 Goals in Manchester City vs Crystal Palace @ 4/9
- Back Over 2.5 Goals in Bolton Wanderers vs Bristol Rovers @ 8/11
- Back Over 2.5 Goals in Stockport County vs Sutton United @ 8/13
- Back Over 2.5 Goals in Wrexham vs Colchester United @ 1/2
- Back Over 2.5 Goals in Rochdale vs York City @ 4/7
- Overall Odds - 15/1
Leg 1 - Over 2.5 Goals in Newcastle United vs Fulham @ 8/11
Just like in the Saturday Acca column, we start at St. James’ Park where the home side are looking to get back on track following a painful week. A 3-0 defeat at Everton was followed by a really poor display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium where they went down 4-1 and in all honesty, it wasn’t even that close.
The 1-2 defeat by AC Milan saw them depart European competition for the year but what do all three games have in common? Yes, the Over 2.5 hit in all three.
Fulham have gone from being one of the lowest scorers in the top-flight to being in the middle-of-the-pack after a glut of goals in their past four matches. Marco Silva’s side have scored 16 times in their past 360 minutes of football. That is quite the turnaround.
I've not been overly impressed with Newcastle's defence in recent times and this should be an entertaining game.
Leg 2 - Over 2.5 Goals in Manchester City vs Crystal Palace @ 4/9
Roy Hodgson has every right to still be mightily annoyed after a pretty average refereeing display likely cost his side the three points last weekend against Liverpool. It was their best performance in many weeks and showed that they might not be in total freefall despite coming away from the early kick-off with no points.
Still, this weekend it is Manchester City on the road and even if the Champions are without Erling Haaland, they are a fearsome opposition and it would come as absolutely no surprise if Pep’s side got to the Over 2.5 without any help whatsoever from the visitors.
Leg 3 - Over 2.5 Goals in Bolton Wanderers vs Bristol Rovers @ 8/11
Only Peterborough United have scored more times in EFL League 1 so far this season than Bolton Wanderers and Ian Evatt’s side have been in red hot form in recent weeks.
A disappointing display at Fratton Park has taken a bit of the shine off their recent displays but their prowess in front of goal, certainly at the Toughsheet Stadium has been mightily impressive. They have found the back of the net 19 times in their past five games up at Middlebrook and I fully anticipate a bounceback performance.
Bristol Rovers make the trip up to Greater Manchester having themselves been on the scoresheet five games on the spin. This indicates they could help get this game to the Over 2.5 mark but I’m going in thinking the home side could do it all by themselves.
Leg 4 - Over 2.5 Goals in Stockport County vs Sutton United @ 8/13
Stockport have seen their free-scoring ways slow down in recent weeks and they’ve only been an Over 2.5 winner once in their past five games.
Still, when they are among the top-scorers in the division and they are playing at home to the bottom-of-the-table side, who come in with the second-worst defensive record, then you can see where I’m going with this.
This week I’ve certainly been focusing on big home favourites, who I think could make the mark without any help and this is another firm example of such a thing. Dave Challinor’s side are primed to get back on the front foot and a home game against Sutton United in the perfect opportunity to get back on track.
Leg 5 - Over 2.5 Goals in Wrexham vs Colchester United @ 1/2
I could pretty much copy and paste the thoughts from the previous game. Wrexham have actually scored one more goal than Stockport and when I wrote about Sutton United having the second-worst defensive record, they are only behind Colchester United.
Phil Parkinson’s side have been an Over 2.5 winner in four-straight and have scored at least twice in every league game at the Racecourse Ground. Like several other games in this week's column, this selection is weighted towards the home side doing the heavy lifting and getting to the mark without any help.
Leg 6 - Over 2.5 Goals in Rochdale vs York City @ 4/7
I do like a statistic and here is one that caught my eye this morning, Rochdale’s past seven home league matches have all resulted in Over 2.5 being a winner. That is a solid run of results and both of these sides are well over 60% for the bet so far this season.
York have scored at least twice in four of their past seven and that also lends credence to thinking this is a good game to round out our sixfold for Saturday.
