Wests Tigers earned back-to-back wins to climb off the bottom of the NRL table, but they could be brought back down to earth with a bump when they make the short trip to the Allianz Stadium on Sunday morning (09:15).

My Sydney Roosters vs Wests Tigers predictions are that the former will indeed be victorious - and comfortably too.

Sydney Roosters vs Wests Tigers Tips

  • Roosters -14 @ 1/1
  • Roosters to win both halves @ 20/21

Sydney Roosters vs Wests Tigers Odds

The Roosters are the expected favourites to come out on top on home soil at 1/4, while the Tigers are 16/5 to cause a shock at Allianz Stadium.

A draw on Sunday is available at 22/1, while over 52.5 total points in what could well be a high-scoring contest is currently 5/6.

Team News

The Roosters will be boosted by the returns of their State of Origin stars, with Connor Watson, Spencer Leniu, Angus Crichton and Lindsay Collins all set to feature.

Junior Pauga begins his four-game suspension for a high tackle on Canterbury Bulldogs full-back Connor Tracey and joins fellow Roosters team-mates Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i, Michael Jennings, Billy Smith and Robert Toia on the sidelines.

Sitili Tupouniua comes into the centres in place of Pauga, while Terrell May has been named in the starting lineup again after the front-row completed the full 80 minutes against the Bulldogs.

As for the Tigers, England international John Bateman has been out for the last five games but returns from a pectoral injury this weekend, with Heath Mason making way.

Prop David Klemmer is back from suspension but Justin Olam remains out on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Roosters -14 @ 1/1

Winning all of their last seven games against the Tigers, it’s hard to look past the Roosters winning Sunday’s showdown at Allianz Stadium.

The Roosters have won 17 of their last 18 games against the Tigers and, with their returning Origin stars, they should have too much quality for the visitors, even if Marshall’s side have been on the up in recent weeks.

A -14 handicap on offer looks achievable in overcoming and is worth considering here.

Roosters to win both halves @ 20/21

Considering their dominance in this fixture over the years, it would be no stretch to imagine the Roosters winning both halves at the Tigers this weekend.

The hosts will look to put this game to bed in the first 40 and have the strength in depth in the rotation to kick on in the second half, in what could be a one-sided affair at the Allianz.
