The South Sydney Rabbitohs have looked more like their former selves in recent weeks and next they have rivals Manly Sea Eagles in their sights for a showdown at Accor Stadium on Saturday morning (10:35 kick-off).

It was a disastrous start to the NRL campaign for the Bunnies, which eventually ended with head coach Jason Demetriou losing his position at the club. Interim boss Ben Hornby has impressed since taking the reins and now the Rabbitohs will fancy their chances of making it four wins on the spin this weekend against the Sea Eagles.

Team News

With in-form Latrell Mitchell away on State of Origin duty, Jye Gray is back from an ankle injury to fill the void. Cameron Murray is also focused on the Origin series, so teenage back-rower Liam Le Blanc has been called up to the squad.

Despite picking up a rib injury against the Brisbane Broncos last time out, Jai Arrow is fit to feature against Manly.

As for the visitors, Daly Cherry-Evans, Jake Trbojevic and Haumole Olakau'atu are away on Origin duty. Karl Lawton starts in the half-backs, with Nathan Brown and Corey Waddell starting in the back-row.

Taniela Paseka and Reuben Garrick are out with a thumb and head injury respectively, so Ethan Bullemor starts at prop and with Aaron Schoupp in the centres.

Match Odds

The Rabbitohs are the 4/9 favourites to continue their winning run on Saturday, while the Sea Eagles are 15/8 to make the short trip home with the victory and the bragging rights.

A draw this weekend is available at 20/1, while the Rabbitohs to win by 13+ points is currently 6/4.

South Sydney Rabbitohs -8 handicap 3-way @ 11/10

The Rabbitohs are building in confidence after winning their last three games against the Parramatta Eels, Gold Coast Titans and Brisbane Broncos.

Scoring an impressive 110 points over the course of those three games, there’s reason to believe the hosts cannot just beat the Sea Eagles on Saturday, but also overcome the -8 handicap in the process.

South Sydney Rabbitohs to win both halves @ 7/4

The Rabbitohs have won seven of their last eight games against the Sea Eagles in the NRL and can continue their strong record here with a dominant performance from the first whistle.

Manly have not beaten the Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium since 2013 and the hosts will be determined to make sure they make a strong start to dispel any hope in the Sea Eagles’ camp they have a chance of ending their miserable run at this venue.

A convincing performance is expected and, on current scoring form, the Bunnies are well priced to win both halves on Saturday.
