Plenty of US racing action this evening for us to look at and we've picked out a Nap of the Day, Best Bet from an Extra Place Race along with throwing in a Bonus from the 18:43 at Churchill Downs, where Betfred will pay back losing bets in the form of a Free Bet if you selection finishes second or third.

Neil Monnery takes us through his picks for this evening across the pond...

US Racing Tips

Nap of the Day:

Close but no cigar yesterday as Momma Kim ran a good race, leading from the front with easy speed but was just beaten out at the line by the fast finishing Amunet.

Today we head off to Churchill Downs and under the Twin Spires, as we take on the Brad Cox trained three-year-old Silver Rose, who has been entered into a small field in a 6f race, carded up as the 18:14 UK time.

Last time out this Constitution-sired filly was second here but put up a very impressive speed figure in just being pipped at the post by the very nice looking Nay V Belle. Today she goes up against a relatively weak field, from which no-one can get near her in speed figures. The excellent Florent Geroux has been booked to ride her again.

This is a nice spot for her to pick up a nice winner check in a $127,000 purse race and with the Brad Cox/Florent Geroux combination, anything longer than Evens feels like a play.

Extra Place Bet of the Day:

We don’t go deep into the selection of Extra Place Races today to find our pick as it comes from the first one set to go tonight, the 17:30 from Delaware Park, where I like the four-year-old Gelding Starstreet to be in and amongst the places come the line.

This horse has won four of his previous nine starts but has shown that he prefers a bit of distance, with recent poor runs having come at either five-and-a-half or six furlongs. His connections are asking him to go a mile this evening (UK time) and that feels as though it will suit him a bit better.

Not sure he’s a genuine win contender but he’s priced-up in the US pools outside the top three and at 5/1 or longer, is a very solid each-way play to hit the board and place.

Bonus Bet of the Day:

Betfred are paying out a Free Bet up to £10 for anyone betting on the 18:43 at Churchill Downs if your selection finishes second or third. With that in mind, a small each-way play on No Mor Stones might be worth a roll of the dice at 10/1 at longer.

Doug O’Neill rarely sends horses out west from his California base but this two-year-old has been breezing at Keeneland in recent weeks and has been getting steadily faster.

Sired by Met Mile winner Mor Stones, he has some pedigree and placing here would not be a surprise at what we expect will be a pretty good price. With the Free Bet offer thrown in, this is a small wager play for me.

*Betfred have yet to price up US races this evening as of the time of publication but based on the US Pools, we would expect Silver Rose to open at 6/4, Starstreet at 11/2 and No Mor Stones at 10/1.
