Things are getting tense in the English Premier League, with just one point separating the top three teams ahead of round 31. Arsenal lead the way on goal difference from nearest rivals Liverpool, with Manchester City a point behind in third, but that could all change in the blink of an eye.

Betfred’s football tipster Frank Monkhouse returns with another weekend anytime scorer treble after coming close with two wins from three picks last week. Will he go one better on this time around? Keep reading for his Saturday Football Tips and his Anytime Scorer picks from the top division in England and Scotland

Saturday Football Tips

  • Son to score anytime in Newcastle vs Tottenham @ 23/20
  • Haaland to score anytime in Man City vs Luton @ 2/5
  • Maeda to score anytime in Celtic vs St Mirren @ 9/5
  • Overall Odds - 7.42/1

Heung-min Son to score anytime

Tottenham are involved in a battle with Aston Villa for fourth place in the Premier League and a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League. Will the Londoners join Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man City in Europe’s elite, or will Villa finish an incredible season on a high?

There’s still all to play as Spurs travel to St James’ Park for a Saturday early afternoon kick-off. The visitors face a huge game and need their experienced players to stand up and be counted. They don’t come much bigger and more experienced than Heung-min Son.

The South Korean scoring sensation was the only player of three that let us down for an anytime goalscorer treble last weekend, but we keep the faith as his recent form is nothing short of remarkable. He has found the net in three of his last five and five of eight. Son scored when Spurs beat Newcastle 4-1 in London earlier this season, and we fancy him getting us off to a flyer in this game broadcast live on television.

Erling Haaland to score anytime

Sticking with the English Premier League and blockbuster strikers, we add Manchester City attacker Erling Haaland in the hope he’ll keep things moving in the Saturday 3:00pm starts. The towering striker should get his fair share of chances when lowly Luton Town arrives at the Etihad Stadium, and we already know what he does with most of his chances. He’s not a huge price, as you can imagine, but Haaland is a worthwhile addition to our scorer treble.

Haaland’s stats for this season show he has scored 30 goals for Man City and was last on the scoresheet in a 4-2 win at Crystal Palace. He has netted just one goal in seven, which is a drought by his standards, but he did bag seven in the three games before that. We add Haaland to our bet in the hope he gets back amongst the goals against a defence that has already leaked 65 this season.

Daizen Maeda to score anytime

We wrap things up in the Scottish Premiership, where league leaders and current champions Celtic host St Mirren. A strong home win is expected as the Bhoys aim to open a gap over Rangers and take a step closer to the title following last weekend’s pulsating six-goal draw at Ibrox. St Mirren are no pushovers, but we’re confident about a home win in this fixture.

Celtic’s Daizen Maeda netted the first goal in the Old Firm derby inside the opening 60 seconds, and he’s back approaching his best form. He’s not the most clinical of finishers, but he gets himself in great positions, always wants the ball, and has the quality to hurt the Saints at Parkhead. He scored three in a recent home win over Livingston and one in each of his last two games against St Mirren.
