Luton vs Everton

Luton Town still have a chance of avoiding relegation from the Premier League but they need to start putting points on the board after losing their last three matches. The Hatters welcome Everton, who are currently mathematically safe from relegation, to Kenilworth Road on Friday night (Sky Sports Main Event, 20:00), with just three games to change their fate.

It will not be easy as the visitors have been in great form of late, having won three on the bounce, so Rob Edwards' men will need to be at their very best to take the three points. Below I have laid out my Luton vs Everton predictions, which also includes team news, stats and match odds.

Luton vs Everton Betting Tips

  • Luton or draw and over 2.5 goals @ 7/4
  • Both teams to score - Yes @ 8/15

Match Odds

Luton are 6/4 to get back to winning ways and secure a valuable three points, which gives them a 40% chance of victory. Everton are also valued at 6/4 and given the same probability of winning this contest. The draw can be backed at 23/10 (30.3%).

Both teams to score has landed in the two meetings between these two teams this term in the Premier League and FA Cup. It is priced at 8/15 to deliver on Friday night. Over 2.5 goals is 4/6.

Luton striker Carlton Morris netted his 10th Premier League goal of the season in the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out and he is valued at 8/5 to score anytime on Friday night.

Team News

Luton have a lengthy injury list heading into the weekend with Tom Lockyer, Marvelous Nakamba, Mads Andersen, Jacob Brown, Daniel Potts, Amari'i Bell and Chiedozie Ogbene all expected to miss this crunch clash.

Everton boss Sean Dyche has to contend with some injuries of his own as Seamus Coleman, Nathan Patterson, Lewis Dobbin, Dele and Beto are all sidelined for the Toffees.

Luton or draw and over 2.5 goals @ 7/4

The form guide suggests I'm a fool for backing Luton here, as I was wrong when backing them at the weekend. However, with Everton seemingly safe from relegation, bar any more points deductions, they have nothing but pride to play for in the final weeks of the campaign.

Learning from the weekend, I'm opting for some insurance this time in covering a draw too. The onus will be on the Hatters here because they are in far greater need of the points than their opponents, and being on home soil, they will need to capitalise on the Kenny atmosphere.

To boost the odds further I have added over 2.5 goals as it has landed in 71% (25/35) of Luton's games this term and it has also delivered in 71% (12/17) of their home matches. Goals have been a regular feature in their fixtures and I think Friday will be no exception.

Luton or draw and over 2.5 goals at 7/4 Both teams to score - Yes @ 8/15

Speaking of goals in games involving Luton, both teams to score has been a winning bet in 80% (28/35) of their matches this campaign and I fancy BTTS to land again on Friday.

In the two matches that these two sides have played against one another this year there were goals at both ends, with Luton winning them both 2-1 at Goodison Park. That is why I'm expecting both these teams to get on the scoresheet in the third meeting.

Everton have been having joy in front of goal recently, too, which is why I believe BTTS will deliver on Friday. The Toffees have scored five goals in their last three outings while keeping clean sheets.

That doesn't discourage me, however, because Luton's matches are consistent for BTTS and they have been relentless in finding a way to score in their matches this year.

Both teams to score at 8/15 Betfred are running their famed Double Delight & Hat-trick Heaven offer on this match, meaning that if a player scores first and then nets again, you will be paid at double the odds. If he grabs a hat-trick, you will be paid at treble the odds!
