Turkey are looking to right the wrongs of Euro 2020 when they line up in Germany this summer. The 'dark horses' of three years ago crashed out at the group stage, failing to pick up a point against any of Italy, Wales or Switzerland.

The Crescent-Stars are back again though, this time under the stewardship of former Italy striker Vincenzo Montella, who led them to top spot in their qualification group ahead of Croatia. Below you can read my Euro 2024 Turkey predictions and find out all the latest betting odds ahead of their first game on Tuesday against Georgia.

Euro 2024 Predictions - Turkey

  • Outright Winner @ 50/1
  • To Qualify From Group F @ 2/7
  • To Win Group F @ 4/1
  • Stage of Elimination - Last 16 @ 5/6
  • Top Team Goalscorer - Kerem Akturkoglu @ 8/1

Turkey lost just once in eight Euro 2024 qualifiers, claiming 17 points from 24 available to finish a point ahead of Croatia and four in front of Wales.

However, they have lost three of their four friendlies this calendar year, with a 6-1 thrashing at the hands of Austria in March particularly painful.

Nevertheless, with Serie A midfielder of the season Hakan Calhanoglu in the side, they head into a group containing Portugal, the Czech Republic and Georgia with a great chance of making the last 16.

There's further magic in their ranks in the shape of Real Madrid teenager Arda Guler, but the lack of a prolific striker - Burak Yilmaz retired from international football in 2022 - could harm their chances of progression this summer.

Euro 2024 Odds

Outright Winner @ 50/1

There are 11 teams lower than the Crescent-Stars in this market, but it would be some feat if they were to transform from the pointless pretenders in 2021 to the triumphant Turks three years later.

To Qualify From Group F @ 2/7

Despite the disappointment of Euro 2020, Turkey are heavily-fancied to qualify for the last 16 of this summer's tournament. That's as much to do with the quality - or lack of - in the Czech Republic and Georgia squads as it is with the talents they possess.

I do think they will advance to the knockouts as third place could even be enough to qualify.

To Win Group F @ 4/1

Portugal are red-hot favourites to win Group F with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes and Rafael Leao in their ranks, and I would be shocked if Roberto Martinez's side do not top the table by the end of the month.

Stage of Elimination - Last 16 @ 5/6

This is the most likely exit point for Turkey in Germany, and the odds reflect it. I expect Turkey to finish second, which would set up a last 16 tie with the winners of Group D, which is likely to be France, if everything goes to plan for Les Bleus.

France are my pick to win the tournament, so it would be the worst possible draw for Turkey, in my opinion. If they finish third, they will either play the winner of Group B - probably Spain, Croatia or Italy - or the winner of Group C - likely England or Denmark.

I wouldn't fancy Turkey's chances against any of the aforementioned countries, so a last 16 exit looks inevitable.

Euro 2024 Turkey stage of elimination - round of 16 @ 5-6

Top Team Goalscorer - Kerem Akturkoglu @ 8/1

Calhanoglu (6/1) is favourite to be Turkey's highest goalscorer in Germany this summer, and there is definite logic in that given his superb penalty record - he's scored all 13 he has taken for club and country since the start of September 2023.

However, Calhanoglu failed to net at the previous Euros and didn't get on the scoresheet in any of Turkey's eight qualifiers.

The Crescent-Stars tend to share their goals around, with only two players - Kerem Akturkoglu and Cenk Tosun - scoring more than once, and they both bagged two.

Tosun endured a pretty rough campaign with club side Besiktas, scoring just six times in 34 Super Lig appearances as his side finished a disappointing sixth.

Akturkoglu, meanwhile, enjoyed a triumphant league season with Galatasaray who pipped their bitter rivals Fenerbahce to the title. The 25-year-old scored 12 Super Lig goals and netted a further three times in the Champions League, including home and away against Manchester United in the group stage.

In my opinion, he represents better value than 19-year-old Kenan Yildiz (13/2), who has scored just a solitary goal for Turkey in seven caps so far, and Tosun, who has struck just twice since the start of March.
