BTTS Tips: 2.91/1 treble from Tuesday’s action

Tuesday brings with it some exciting football clashes and the two that are stealing the show are the second leg of Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals and the second leg of Bolton Wanderers vs Barnsley in the League 1 play-off semi-finals. There are other games taking place  across the globe on Tuesday, which presents an opportunity to put together a valuable accumulator.

One that I like the look of focuses on backing both teams to score, which includes the two crunch clashes mentioned above. As well as these two matches, I have picked up a fixture from the 2. Bundesliga to build an interesting treble that pays out at 2.91/1. Below I have given the reasons for my BTTS tips.

BTTS Tips: Tuesday, May 7

  • BTTS Yes in Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund @ 8/13
  • BTTS Yes in Bolton Wanderers vs Barnsley @ 8/13
  • BTTS Yes in VfL Osnabruck vs Schalke @ 1/2

BTTS Yes in Paris Saint-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund @ 8/13

Borussia Dortmund head to Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night with a one-goal advantage in their Champions League semi-final. Some will say they have one foot in next month's final at Wembley Stadium, but I disagree. A one-goal lead is not the most secure and the Black and Yellows may come to rue not scoring more at Signal Iduna Park last week.

Les Parisiens were subpar in Germany in the first leg, and I'm expecting to see a much-improved importance from them inside Parc des Princes on Tuesday night, which Dortmund will need to anticipate. This match is huge for both clubs given a place in the Champions League final is at stake. For PSG, it is the piece of silverware they desire more than anything else and despite all the millions invested in that ambition over the years, the wait still goes on after they failed in their previous attempt when reaching the final in 2020.

As for Dortmund, they are seeking their first Champions League final since 2013, losing to Bayern Munich, who also beat PSG four years ago, under the famous arch. Having announced that the club will part ways with long-serving star Marco Reus in the summer, supporters and neutrals around the world are hoping that the Dortmund legend can bow out on the highest of highs.

So this game in Paris has so many running narratives that should make for another enthralling game of football. I believe that both teams will score in this contest because they both have to go for it if they are to get a shot at Europe's most coveted prize, and there is plenty of quality on either side.

BTTS may not have landed when the two sides met here back in the group stage but I think it will deliver this time because of the pressure surrounding this meeting is far greater of the one last time. BTTS has come in just two of PSG's home clashes in Europe this term but Dortmund have got the quality to see that tally rise, especially after their last home encounter saw them concede three to Barcelona.

BTTS Yes in Bolton Wanderers vs Barnsley @ 8/13

Bolton Wanderers took the advantage in the first leg of their League 1 play-off semi final with Barnsley at Oakwell on Friday, taking a 3-1 lead back with them to the Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Ian Evatt's men showed their devastating quality in front of goal against the Tykes, who took a long time to get going on home soil. This is something they cannot afford to do in the second leg with a two-goal deficit, and they will need to sharper from the get-go against the Trotters.

Barnsley looked good when they did switch on after their goal on Friday and they will need to channel that into their performance from kick-off this time around if they are to turn this tie around.

I'm not worried about BTTS landing here on Tuesday because the pressure of the play-off more often than not tends to lead to goals at both ends. And in the case of these two sides, it has been a winning bet in all three of their meetings so far this season. In the regular campaign, they played out a 1-1 draw at Bolton before a 2-2 stalemate at Oakwell.

BTTS Yes in VfL Osnabruck vs Schalke @ 1/2

Also taking place on Tuesday is a contest between two of the 2. Bundesliga's worst-performing sides. VfL Osnabruck are rooted to the bottom of the table with 25 points and are edging closer to relegation. They host Schalke, one of Germany's most historic and decorated clubs, who have been spiralling in recent years.

Both have experienced a lot of woes this year, particularly with conceding goals. The hosts have shipped 61 so far and Schalke have let in 57. With two poor defences on show here I think there is a strong chance of BTTS delivering, and we could be in for quite a few goals at both ends.
