Twente vs Ferencvaros Prediction: Who will score and will they draw?

Team News
A familiar face looks set to lead the line for FC Twente. Former Burnley and Manchester United centre forward Wout Weghorst was signed from Ajax over the summer. The move sees Weghorst link up with his old Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag, who serves as Twente’s technical director.
Twente will be without centre back Mees Hilgers, who has been out since November with a cruciate ligament injury. The hosts are also missing goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall with an abdominal injury he picked up in May.
Ferencvaros winger Daniel Arzani is carrying a hamstring injury, which he picked up while on loan at Melbourne City. Beyond that, head coach John van den Brom has a full complement to choose from for this Europa League qualifier.
Twente vs Ferencvaros Predicted Lineups
- FC Twente: El Maach; Van Rooij, Lemkin, Propper, Adelgaard; Kjolo, Van den Belt; Rots, Hlynsson, Orjasaeter; Weghorst
- Ferencvaros: Dibusz; Osvath, Gomez, Raemaekers, Cadu; Kanichowski, Keita, Corbu; Zachariassen, Joseph, Bamidele
Twente are backed at 8/15 to secure a home victory. Ferencvaros are marketed at 4/1 to upset the party. The draw is 11/4. More on that shortly…
Twente vs Ferencvaros Stats
- Twente had the best defensive record in the Eredivisie last season, conceding just 40 goals. Champions PSV conceded 45 on their way to the title
- Ferencvaros have qualified for European competition every season since 2013/14
Match Result: Draw @ 11/4
Twente have endured a mixed bag of pre-season results. Wins over Aberdeen and PAOK gave way to twin-disappointments against Gent. The Belgian side held Twente to a 2-2 draw before winning the return fixture 2-0.
Ferencvaros have used the break to get to know their new manager. Previous incumbent Robbie Keane left in the summer after delivering the 2025/26 Hungarian Cup to go with his league title the year before.
Now Balazs Borbely is in the hot seat. The 46-year-old has club knowledge, having taken the Ferencvaros age group teams between 2019 and 2022. Borbely masterminded a surprise league title win for Gyor ETO last term, putting him firmly on the radar of the team they pipped to the post.
I fancy a draw here because Twente are very handy at home while Ferencvaros have the freshness advantage. The Hungarian side have already come through one Europa League qualifier, with a 5-1 aggregate win over Serbia’s FK Vojvodina. I think that possible edge in fitness should see Ferencvaros come away with something to hold onto.

Both teams to score: Yes @ 5/6
Ferencvaros have proven dangerous home and away in this year’s Europa League. They registered a 2-1 away victory in the last round to go with their 3-0 home win.
I fancy Borbely’s boys to arrive in the Netherlands with confidence. Last season’s Hungarian Cup winners were the highest scorers in the league last term, despite their now-manager leading Gyor to glory.
Twente have six goals from four friendly outings so far. With the home crowd behind them and a nominally weaker side coming to visit, I back them to score at least once.
