Tennis Betting Tips: 9/4 for Fery-tale to continue

We're well and truly into the second week of Wimbledon now, with more action heading our way on Wednesday. British wildcard Arthur Fery will look to continue his 'Fery-tale' against French Open runner-up Flavio Cobolli, and will be the focus of one of my selections.

My other comes from the women's draw as Marta Kostyuk takes on Jasmine Paolini for a place in the semi-finals. Read on for my Tennis Betting Tips for Wednesday 8 July 2026.

Arthur Fery to beat Flavio Cobolli @ 9/4

Fery came from two sets to one down to topple Grigor Dimitrov in the previous round, becoming the first-ever British wildcard to make this stage, and he now faces a huge challenge in the form of Cobolli who beat Alex de Minaur to book his place in the quarter-finals.

Fery will undoubtedly be riding the wave of momentum coming into this one, having previously never made it past the second round of any major, but his victory over Dimitorv made it four on the spin, dispatching Damir Dzumhur, Otto Virtanen and Zizou Bergs in previous rounds.

Cobolli made the quarter-finals at SW19 last year before losing to Novak Djokovic, but the Italian arrives with much more experience under his belt after reaching the final at Roland Garros and capturing a title on the hard courts of Acapulco.

Fery managed to defeat Cobolli in straight sets at the Australian Open at the start of the year, but the Italian is a much better player than that result suggests. Nevertheless, I'm backing the British wildcard to continue his journey at Wimbledon.

Set Betting - Jasmine Paolini to win 2-1 (vs Marta Kostyuk) @ 9/2

My second pick comes from the 12th vs 13th seed battle between Kostyuk and Paolini.

This match marks Kostyuk's maiden appearance in the quarter-finals at SW19, although this is her fourth-straight quarter-final match on the WTA singles tour. The Ukrainian has made the final four at a Slam just once previously - at the French Open last month - but she's in excellent form and will fancy her chances against Paolini, who had to battle past Alexandra Eala in the previous round, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3.

This match marks Paolini's third Grand Slam quarter-final appearance, and her first at Wimbledon since 2024. The Italian holds a 2-1 advantage in the head-to-head record over Wednesday's opponent, beating her in three sets at the Transylvania Open (2022) before enjoying a straight-sets win at the Cincinnati Open (2023).

Both women have had to battle through some gruelling contests to make it to this stage, but Paolini has more experience at this level, which gives her a slight edge in my book.
