The third Grand Slam of the tennis calendar gets underway on Monday as Wimbledon takes centre stage for the next fortnight.

Carlos Alcaraz's title defence gets underway as the Spaniard seeks a third consecutive title at SW19, and while there's no Andy Murray at this year's tournament, there's still plenty of British interest with Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper. I've picked out a couple bets for the first day of this year's championships, and you can find my Wimbledon betting tips below.

Wimbledon Betting Tips - Monday, June 30

Fabio Fognini vs Carlos Alcaraz - over 27.5 total games @ 10/11

With Alcaraz being priced up at 1/100 to win this match, I had to try and find some value elsewhere.

As well as being a two-time champion at the All England Club, Alcaraz also won Queen's earlier this month, however it wasn't all plain sailing. The 22-year-old lost two tie breaks en route to the title, and only won one set by a more dominant scoreline than 6-4.

The Spaniard starts his title defence against someone 16 years his senior on Monday but Fabio Fognini has plenty of experience at Wimbledon, reaching the third round on seven occasions, most recently 12 months ago - beating Casper Ruud along the way.

Retirement is surely imminent for the 38-year-old Italian, meaning that this could be his final appearance in SW19, and while I don't think he has a chance of beating Alcaraz, he can certainly make each set competitive.

The veteran has the nous to hang around to deliver on this pick.

Set Betting - Emma Raducanu 2-1 vs Mingge Xu @ 3/1

Since her US Open triumph back in 2021, Raducanu has struggled to live up to the ability she displayed at Flushing Meadows.

The 22-year-old has battled numerous injuries and changed her coach several times, but appears to be on a better path and comes into Wimbledon in good form.

She's won 15 times from 27 matches this season and is back up to 38th in the world rankings, as well as making the last 16 at Eastbourne and the quarter-finals at Queen's earlier this month.

The British number one begins her Wimbledon campaign the free-swinging Mingge Xu, the 17-year-old Welsh teenager who already has two wins over top-100 players.

Xu not only reached the quarter-finals of the Birmingham Classic, but she also defeated Katie Volynets in Nottingham to advance to the second round of a WTA 250 Tour event, showing that she has a promising future.

Raducanu should have too much class from the back of the court, but her British counterpart certainly doesn't have anything to lose here, ultimately losing in three sets to the British number one.
