Wimbledon Centre Court

We have entered crunch time at Wimbledon as the quarter-finals get underway on Tuesday. We’ve got some cracking ties to look forward to with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner both in action, while the woman who impressively beat Emma Raducanu - Lulu Sun - is also looking to claim her place in the last four.

I’ve taken a look at the matches taking place on Tuesday to come up with an accumulator that pays 20/1. Here’s hoping for a winner on what should be a fantastic day of tennis.

Wimbledon Accumulator Tips - Tuesday, July 9

  • Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul - Over 39.5 games
  • Jannik Sinner to win 3-1 vs Daniil Medvedev
  • Lulu Sun to beat Donna Vekic

Accumulator pays 20/1

Carlos Alcaraz vs Tommy Paul - Over 39.5 games

I’m fairly convinced that Carlos Alcaraz is going to go through in this match, however, I think it will be another long affair. Tommy Paul is clearly a tough opponent, possibly his hardest test so far, and I believe this one will be a four or five-setter.

The Spaniard beat Ugo Humbert in four sets last time out, which may seem comfortable, but he faltered in set three - surprisingly losing 6-1 in that set. In the round before, he went the full five sets with the tough Frances Tiafoe and the Frenchman could have dumped the reigning champion out had the fourth set tie-break swung the other way.

Wimbledon Odds

Alcaraz has not been at his glittering best, but he has found a way to win in difficult circumstances. Meanwhile, Paul is now knocking on the door of the top 10, and although he has won his last two matches in straight sets, his round two match went the distance. I can see this being a real slog, which attracts me to the over 39.5 games market for our first selection.

Jannik Sinner to win 3-1 vs Daniil Medvedev

Another men's quarter-final for us to enjoy on Tuesday sees world number one Jannik Sinner face Daniil Medvedev. Now Medvedev is a player that could cause some damage in this competition, but Sinner is on top form and looks every bit like a world number one right now.

He’s won in straight sets in the last two matches, while countryman Matteo Berrettini took a set off him in the second round. I think this will be a reasonably tight contest, with Sinner clearly the superior player on paper. I’m backing him to get the job done in four sets here, with Medvedev a sturdy opponent for this quarter-final.

Tennis Odds

Lulu Sun to beat Donna Vekic

The outside pick for this selection to boost our odds is Lulu Sun to beat Donna Vekic in the women’s quarter-finals. Sun was extremely impressive as she downed home favourite Raducanu in the last 16, and I think the New Zealander can go one step further here. Now, the Brit she beat hasn’t been in the best form but she is still a sturdy opponent and took some beating.

Sun showed her capabilities in that match as she roared back to win the final set 6-2, dashing any hopes of progression for Raducanu. Meanwhile, her next opponent is definitely beatable. Vekic has only won one match in straight sets so far at Wimbledon and at times seems to lose her way. Paula Badosa won the second set of their recent meeting 6-1, while Sun has shown great powers of recovery, having lost the opening set against both Qinwen Zheng and Yulia Starodubtsewa.

That will to win may just get her over the line.
