Tennis Betting Tips: Two picks for Tuesday’s ATP action

Two ATP tournaments climax on Tuesday with home interest in both finals at Chengdu and Hangzhou.
But there will be just as much interest in Marin Cilic’s fortunes in the second of those two Chinese events as the Croat targets his first tour title in three years. Read on for my tennis betting tips for Tuesday.
Tennis Betting Tips - Tuesday, September 24
Marin Cilic to beat Zhizhen Zhang @ 6/5
Cilic’s appearance in the Hangzhou Open final is a remarkable story as the 35-year-old underwent knee surgery in the summer.
He gained entry to the tournament with a wildcard because his ATP ranking was 777 one week ago, although he is set to shoot up to inside the world's top 400 on the back of victories over Zachary Svajda, Yoshihito Nishioka, Yasutaka Uchiyama and Brandon Nakashima.
Cilic began the week slowly, needing three sets to get past his first-round opponent, but the Croat quickly picked up steam.
He beat No.8 seed Nishioka in straight sets in round two before taking on qualifier Uchiyama, who had just sent top seed Holger Rune crashing out of the event.
Cilic served 19 aces in a tense three-set encounter that was decided on a tie-break before arguably producing his most complete tennis of the tournament against No.4 seed Nakashima.
He will be desperate to cash in on such an opportunity in his first final appearance since 2022.
Zhang beat another wildcard, Bu Yunchaokete, 7-6, 6-4 in his semi-final and will have the home crowd on his side for this clash.
But his seasonal stats on this surface do not match up to Cilic’s.
The Croatian has served almost twice as many aces per game, won a higher ratio of return points and converted a higher proportion of his break points.
Cilic also has vastly more experience of the big occasions, which should propel him to victory in his 37th ATP Tour final on Tuesday.

Lorenzo Musetti to beat Shang Juncheng 2-1 @ 3/1
Chinese teenager Shang is definitely one to watch, but he comes up against an in-form Lorenzo Musetti in the final of the Chengdu Open.
The Italian is hungry for his first title since 2022 after two near misses earlier this year.
Musetti lost the final of the Queen’s Club Championships to Tommy Paul in June and then a tight three-setter, decided by a tie-break, to Francisco Cerundolo in the final of the Croatia Open a month later.
Shang is a left-hander who trains in Florida and had some excellent results as a junior.
He is rising up the rankings after a super summer, having gone out to Grigor Dimitrov in the second round of Wimbledon and Casper Ruud at the third-round stage of the US Open.
Between those two Grand Slam events, the teenager made it all the way to the semi-finals in the Atlanta hard-court event and took Jordan Thompson to three sets.
Some players will find the lefty and awkward customer, but not Musetti.
The Italian has a 5-1 record against southpaws this year and should emerge victorious from this intriguing contest, which has all the makings of a classic.
A three-set tussle could be on the cards but the Italian looks to be a more rounded performer at this level right now.
