Tennis Betting Tips: Nadal to triumph in Bastad

It's finals time this Sunday, where the various ATP and WTA tournaments taking place, reach their climaxes.
Yesterday saw no improvement on Friday's one out of three, as only pick landed once again. Read on for my tennis betting tips for Sunday, July 21.
Tennis Betting Tips - Sunday, July 21
Set Betting - Rafael Nadal to beat Nuno Borges 2-1 @ 13/5
Rafael Nadal must be able to almost taste his first ATP Tour singles title in over two years, but seventh seed Nuno Borges will be standing in his way on Sunday afternoon in Sweden.
Nadal seeks another title in Sweden - and the 93rd of his illustrious career - 19 years on from winning his first and only ATP Bastad to date - defeating Tomas Berdych in the 2005 final, appropriately in three sets.
The 38-year-old booked his place in Sunday's showpiece the hard way, having to come from a set down against Duje Ajdukovic to prevail in another three-set thriller. Nadal has also withdrawn from the doubles with Casper Ruud at Bastad, showing his intention to get over the line in singles.
Borges has dropped only one set this week, earning his first appearance in an ATP tour final, and the best thing he can do is play with no fear. However, it's not often Rafa loses in a final, especially on clay. Back Nadal to get the job done in three.
Set Betting - Alexander Zverev to beat Arthur Fils 2-0 @ 10/11
Almost exactly 12 months after their first meeting in the 2023 ATP Hamburg semi-finals, Alexander Zverev and Arthur Fils will now face each other in the final of that event.
Fils has enjoyed a revival to the second part of his 2024 season, making the second week at Wimbledon, and now into his first ATP Tour final. The Frenchman hasn't looked back after dropping the opening set this week to Jaume Munar.
However, Sunday's match-up will be his toughest yet up against Zverev. The German been nothing short of incredible this season, as he’s number three in the ATP Race and leads the tour with 44 tour-level wins. Even the knee injury sustained at Wimbledon hasn’t stopped him from dominating his opponents this week, with only Hugo Gaston coming close.
I think Fils has the tools to trouble Zverev, but ultimately the German should be too strong for the young Frenchman.
Set Betting - Alex Michelsen to beat Marcos Giron 2-1 @ 3/1
My final pick comes from an all-American final between Marcos Giron and Alex Michelsen at ATP Newport.
Giron is on pace to finish the 2024 season with the most tour-level wins of his career, and after his run at Newport, he will achieve a career-high ranking of 38 on Monday, regardless of the result here.
Michelsen, meanwhile, is quickly closing in on the world's top 50, and has cruised to the Newport final, not dropping a set in three matches. In fact, he has lost just 18 games in three matches.
Giron is the more consistent player, but I'm siding with Michelsen here based on current form.
