Tennis Betting Tips: Pegula to claim the Canadian Open crown

A new week of tennis begins on Monday and it starts off with an interesting final at the Canadian Open as Jessica Pegula clashes with Amanda Anisimova. This should be a fascinating encounter, and one that should deliver in terms of entertainment value.
I have picked out a market from this match, as well as a couple from clashes taking place at the Cincinnati Open to make up my tennis betting tips for Monday, August 12.
Tennis Betting Tips - Monday, August 12
Jessica Pegula to beat Amanda Anisimova 2-1 @ 3/1
American star Pegula is gunning for her sixth career WTA title in the final of the Canadian Open when she faces Anisimova tonight. The 30-year-old has won all of her matches at this event in straight sets, but I expect she will be pushed all the way here.
Her compatriot Anisimova has equally been playing some excellent tennis in Toronto, and she prevailed over another American, Emma Navarro, in the semi-finals, with Navarro having enjoyed a decent run at Wimbledon a few weeks ago. She also came out on top against two-time Grand Slam champion Aryna Sabalenka in the round before that, so her confidence will be high heading into Monday's showpiece.
The 22-year-old is showing that she has a big future ahead of her on the WTA tour, but I think experience will prevail over youth on this occasion, so I am backing Pegula to emerge victorious and land her sixth WTA title. She claimed the Berlin crown earlier this season, so she has that encounter to bolster her chances of success here.
This is enhanced by the fact that she has always reached the semi-finals of this event in each year she has competed. I have her to win in three sets.
Tommy Paul to beat Flavio Cobolli 2-0 @ 15/2
Over in Ohio, USA star Tommy Paul gets underway in the Cincinnati Open as he meets Flavio Cobolli in the first round. The American will be looking for a response after his tennis in Montreal was quite disappointing in comparison to the high standards he sets himself.
This was likely down to the tight schedule put in place after his Olympics participation. We all know what he can produce when he is on-song and I am expecting him to bounce back here to get his Cincinnati campaign off to a flying and convincing start.
Cobolli may cause him some problems early on, but once Paul finds his rhythm on the comfortable hard courts on American soil, I think he will be tough to stop. I am backing him to win in straight sets here.
Nuno Borges to beat Aleksandar Vukic @ 8/13
In qualifying for this event, Nuno Borges and Aleksandar Vukic collide, hoping to make the main draw. Borges delivered some strong performances at the Canadian Open, including a victory over Ugo Humbert. His journey came to an end at the round of 16 against Kei Nishikori, but I still think he has some momentum behind him to get past Vukic.
The Australian may have the edge in that his first qualifier on Sunday was won in straight sets, whereas Borges' went the distance. Fatigue could be a factor for the Portuguese star, but I still think that he has the skill to defeat Vukic, who could push him all the way.
