It is time for the quarter-finals of the Australian Open on Tuesday with two matches in both the men's and women's competitions.

Both defending champions are involved on Tuesday with Novak Djokovic headlining the men's action when he takes on Taylor Fritz, while Aryna Sabalenka continues her campaign against Barbora Krejcikova.

The other matches pit 2023 US Open winner Coco Gauff against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine, while Jannik Sinner clashes with Andrey Rublev.

Australian Open Tips - Tuesday, 23rd January

  • Under 19.5 games in Barbora Krejcikova v Aryna Sabalenka @ 5/6
  • Novak Djokovic to win 3-1 v Taylor Fritz @ 12/5
  • Jannik Sinner to win 3-0 v Andrey Rublev @ 11/8

Under 19.5 games in Barbora Krejcikova v Aryna Sabalenka @ 5/6

World number one Iga Swiatek has crashed out of the Australian Open, meaning Aryna Sabalenka is the highest-ranked player left in the women's draw.

And the second seed looks like a woman on a mission, having eased to four successive 2-0 victories to make the quarter-finals in Melbourne.

Sabalenka has dropped only 11 games in the process and has fond memories of playing down under, having secured her first Grand Slam title in Australia this time last year.

Standing between her way and a spot in another semi-final is Barbora Krejcikova, who is seeded ninth, but has been made to work for a place in the quarter-finals.

Krejcikova has been taken to three sets in three of her four matches in Melbourne and could be out of her depth against the imperious Sabalenka, who could again get the job done quickly.

Sabalenka should ease to another straight-sets victory, but the better bet is to back the match to feature 19 games or fewer.

Under 19.5 games at 5-6

Novak Djokovic to win 3-1 v Taylor Fritz @ 12/5

Men's top seed Novak Djokovic is in pursuit of a record 11th Australian Open title and record 25th Grand Slam title this month and he looked as dangerous as ever in the fourth round against Adrian Mannarino.

Djokovic eased to a 6-0 6-0 6-3 victory in just one hour and 44 minutes against 20th seed Mannarino, who nearly became the first player since 1993 to lose a Grand Slam match without winning a game, only for a late push in the final set.

It seems that the Serb will once again be the player to beat in Melbourne and it is hard to make a case for his quarter-final opponent Taylor Fritz.

However, American Fritz took down seventh seed Stefanos Tsitsipas last time out and should take a set off Djokovic, who conceded sets against Dino Prizmic and Alexei Popyrin earlier in the tournament.

With that in mind, back Djokovic to win this match 3-1 at 12/5.

Djokovic to win 3-1 at 12-5

Jannik Sinner to win 3-0 v Andrey Rublev @ 11/8

Aside from second seed Carlos Alcaraz, the player many believe could unsettle Djokovic in Melbourne is Jannik Sinner and the Italian has so far justified those expectations.

Sinner is yet to drop a set at the 2024 Australian Open, seeing off Botic van de Zandschulp, Jesper De Jong, 26th seed Sebastian Baez and 15th seed Karen Khachanov without breaking a sweat.

Next up for Sinner is Andrey Rublev and the Italian can draw confidence from the fact he has won four of the previous six meetings between the players, including two of their three encounters on the hard courts.

Sinner was a semi-finalist at Wimbledon last summer and will be looking to repeat the feat at the Australian Open, where he can win 3-0 against Rublev on Tuesday.

Rublev has had some tough matches in Australia this month and could be a touch fatigued from his fourth-round clash with Alex De Minaur, having played out five sets and two tiebreaks.

Sinner to win 3-0 at 11-8
