Men’s Wimbledon 2025 Predictions: Alcaraz out for the hat-trick

After a titanic battle at Roland Garros last month, in one of the greatest Grand Slam finals of the Open era, Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are fancied to slug it out again at Wimbledon. Alcaraz is the defending champion, having won the last two editions, while World No. 1 Sinner is looking to reach the final day for the first time at The All England Lawn Tennis Club.
Could we see a new name engraved on the trophy this year? Or will Alcaraz make it a hat-trick of wins? Below are my Men's Wimbledon 2025 predictions, supported by the latest outright odds, ahead of Monday's first-round matches.
Carlos Alcaraz - Winner @ 11/8
Alcaraz heads into Wimbledon on the back of an 18-match win streak that has seen him win a title at the Italian Open and Queen's Club either side of a stunning five-set victory over Sinner at Roland Garros, where the Spaniard became the first man in the Open Era to win a slam final saving 3+ championship points. He also won the Monte-Carlo Masters in April, and later in the month, reached the final of the Barcelona Open, making it just two losses in his last 28 matches, and he's reached the final of his last five tournaments, winning four.
The 23-year-old returns to SW19 in fine form, and it's difficult to look past the two-time winner at a venue where he has tasted success in the last two years.
In 2023, he ousted one of the greatest grass court players of all time, seven-time Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic, in five sets, and beat the Serb again last year, but in straight sets.
The World No. 2 enjoyed a three-day break in Ibiza after his victory in France, but he showed no signs of a hangover back on grass last week, losing just one set en route to the final, where he beat Jiri Lehecka 2-1.
At this point, Alcaraz is inevitable, and it would take a brave person to back against the Murcia-born man taking home another title in England next month.
Behind Sinner (13/8), whom I will discuss in greater detail next, Djokovic (6/1), Jack Draper (10/1) and Alexander Zverev (20/1) are next in the betting. Djokovic is 38 years old, Draper has never reached a Grand Slam final, and Zverev has never made it past the fourth round at Wimbledon.
The only real rival for Alcaraz here is Sinner, whom he leads 8-4 in the head-to-head, winning the last five meetings between the two. He has the mental edge on the Italian, and that should be enough for him to make it three in a row at Wimbledon.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
Jannik Sinner - Winner @ 13/8
Sinner made a strong return from his three-month doping ban in May, reaching the final of the Italian Open and Roland Garros, but he lost both to Alcaraz, and his defeat in France was particularly cruel as he failed to capitalise on three championship points.
He returned to action nine days later, on the grass courts at the Halle Open, beating Yannick Hanfmann in the first round. But the 23-year-old fell to a 2-1 defeat to Alexander Bublik in the second round, hardly ideal preparation for Wimbledon, where his win rate (76%) is the lowest of any Grand Slam.
Despite the heartbreaking nature of his recent losses to Alcaraz, Sinner remains World No. 1, and his ice-cool persona should help him to overcome those setbacks and grow stronger.
The Italian will hope that his Spanish counterpart gets caught in the euphoria surrounding him at the moment, with the crowds at Wimbledon sure to be behind him in July.
Sinner won't be able to rely on the same support, but he doesn't need it to perform to his best levels.
Prior to his shock defeat to Bublik, who is as unpredictable as they come, Sinner hadn't lost to anyone else except Alcaraz this calendar year, so he will be confident of making his way to a first Wimbledon final, with no one else on tour offering any real resistance to 'Sincaraz'.
The question will be, can he overcome the mental hurdle of five successive defeats to the Spaniard?
Alcaraz has already shown his prowess on grass, while Sinner has made the hard courts his home, so there is a lot for the latter to prove over the coming weeks.
My money would be on Alcaraz, just as it was for Roland Garros.
Odds correct at time of publishing.
