Women’s French Open 2025 Predictions: Sabalenka to end Swiatek’s dominance

Iga Swiatek has dominated the French Open Women's Singles this decade, winning four of the last five tournaments, including the last three. However, the Pole arrives at Roland Garros this year on the back of a mixed clay-court swing, losing to Coco Gauff in the Madrid Open semi-finals before an early exit to Danielle Collins in the Italian Open earlier this month.
Could we see a new name on the trophy this year? Below are my Women's French Open 2025 predictions, supported by the latest outright odds.
Women's French Open 2025 Betting Tips
Aryna Sabalenka - Winner @ 5/2
Despite her dominance at this tournament, Swiatek (10/3) is only the second favourite with Betfred to win the Women's French Open 2025, with World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka leading the contenders instead. The Belarusian has never reached the final at Roland Garros but has arrived in Paris this year as the top seed.
The 27-year-old has won 34 of her 40 matches in 2025, beating Gauff in straight sets (6-3, 7-6) in the Madrid Open final before reaching the quarter-finals of the Italian Open, where she came a cropper to Qinwen Zheng (4-6, 3-6).
Sabalenka recently outlined her confidence, telling reporters: "Throughout the years I've improved a lot (on clay) and today I feel physically, mentally... my game is pretty much ready to play on clay. I definitely feel stronger than ever."
Kamilla Rakhimova is first up for Sabalenka on Sunday, and Swiatek is a potential opponent in the semis.
Swiatek, of course, does offer value in the market given her past performances at Roland Garros, but she's yet to win a tournament this calendar year, and Sabalenka appears to have more momentum, and the drive to succeed this time around after a semi-final appearance in 2023 and a quarter-final exit in 2024.

Jasmine Paolini - Each-way Winner (1/2, 2 places) @ 14/1
Last year's losing finalist, Jasmine Paolini, is fifth in the outright odds at 14/1.
The 29-year-old endured an early exit at the Madrid Open last month, but with the backing of a home crowd at the Italian Open, she outclassed Gauff in straight sets in the final (6-4, 6-2). In fact, Paolini only dropped one set in six tournament matches, moving up to fourth in the world ranking following her victory in Rome, where she also picked up the doubles trophy.
Paolini starts her tournament on Sunday with a match against Yue Yuan, and she could be looking at a quarter-final against Swiatek in a battle of last year's finalists. Given the confidence the Italian is playing with right now, I wouldn't bet against her coming out on top against the Pole.
Gauff (5/1) is another contender to consider, having reached back-to-back finals in Madrid and Rome, although there are question marks over her in pressure moments, with the American losing in straight sets in both tournament finals this month.
