With just weeks left until the grand finale, the pressure is mounting for the remaining contestants as Blackpool’s special night of sparkles and heartbreak set the tone for what promises to be an exhilarating race to the finish line. As we enter the remaining weeks of the competition, Betfred’s Showbiz Specialist Kayley Cornelius is back to discuss who could be the next star to miss a spot in the final with her look at the Strictly Odds 2024…

Strictly Odds - Ninth Elimination

Last weekend's Strictly Come Dancing Blackpool special brought the glitz, glamour, and high-stakes drama that only the Tower Ballroom can deliver. The iconic sprung floor hosted a dazzling array of routines, from elegant ballroom performances to fiery Latin numbers, as the remaining couples gave it their all to impress the judges and viewers alike.

The night’s tension peaked in the dance-off, where Wynne Evans and Katya Jones squared off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe. Both pairs brought passion and precision to the showdown, earning praise from the judges for their efforts. However, after much deliberation, the judges unanimously chose to save Montell and Johannes. This decision marked the end of the road for Wynne and Katya, who bowed out with grace after a memorable run filled with charm and entertaining routines. Their departure left fans emotional, as they bid farewell to a duo that had brought warmth and joy to the competition.

But who will leave this weekend?

Pete Wicks @ 8/11

Pete Wicks has been skating on thin ice since the start of the series, and with his odds now set at a concerning 8/11 for elimination this weekend, his time on the show may be running out. Despite some commendable efforts, Pete has struggled to match the skills of the other contestants, often finding himself near the bottom of the leaderboard. As the competition tightens and the less-favoured contestants are gradually eliminated, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for Pete to avoid the dreaded dance-off.

Without a standout performance this Saturday, Pete will face an uphill battle to stay in the competition. His loyal fanbase will play a crucial role in his survival, as it will be their votes that may keep him out of the bottom two. However, with the field of competitors growing stronger, Pete’s chances are quickly diminishing. His odds reflect the growing pressure, and this weekend may very well be make or break for the TOWIE star.

Montell Douglas @ 100/30

Montell Douglas is currently priced at 100/30 to be eliminated this weekend, as she faces an increasingly tough battle to reach the semi-finals. Having already been in two dance-offs, Montell is now under pressure to avoid a third, and the odds reflect the challenges ahead. While her performances have been solid, she’s often found herself near the bottom of the leaderboard, making her vulnerable when it comes to the public vote.

For the remaining contestants, facing Pete Wicks in the dance-off would likely come as a relief, given his performance skills have consistently lagged behind the rest of the pack. However, Montell will need to avoid going head-to-head with stronger competitors, as a showdown with anyone who performs better could seal her fate. To survive another elimination and secure a spot in the semi-finals, she will need to deliver a standout routine and hope that her opponent doesn’t perform at their best.

JB Gill @ 4/1

JB Gill’s odds for elimination have risen to 4/1 this weekend, largely due to a mix of disappointing recent performances and stiff competition. While JB started the series with strong routines, his scores have gradually slipped, with several other contestants—like Chris McCausland —showing stronger consistency. His latest dances haven’t quite matched the standards expected at this stage in the competition, and despite his charm, this could put him at risk when the public votes are factored in. The increasing number of technically gifted dancers on the show also heightens the tension, meaning any slip-ups could push him toward the dance-off. Although he hasn’t faced the dreaded bottom two yet, his odds are influenced by the tight race for the Glitterball Trophy, where every misstep counts.

Jamie Borthwick @ 5/1

Jamie Borthwick is priced at 5/1 to be eliminated this weekend, which reflects the growing sentiment that his journey may be nearing its end. While he earned praise for his performances, particularly during the Halloween week, his overall consistency has been questioned by some fans and critics. Although he has managed to impress in individual routines, Jamie is often overshadowed by other contestants who consistently score higher, putting him at risk. His performances have not always matched up to the judges' expectations, leading to mounting speculation about his potential departure. With the competition intensifying, Jamie definitely is one of the more vulnerable contestants going into this weekend.
