Strictly Odds 2024: Wynne Evans Given a ‘Glimmer of Hope’ to Avoid Elimination

Week 8 of Strictly Come Dancing brought high stakes and emotional moments as the couples battled for a spot in next week’s Blackpool extravaganza. The iconic Tower Ballroom loomed on the horizon, but before the glitz and glamour could take centre stage, the competition claimed another casualty.  

In a tense dance-off, Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu went head-to-head with Wynne Evans and Katya Jones. The judges were split, leaving Head Judge Shirley Ballas to make the final call. The odds aren’t in Wynne Evans’ favour this week, with punters heavily backing him to leave Strictly at 4/6. After another close call in the dance-off, Wynne’s position looks increasingly fragile. Viewer support has been waning, particularly following the ‘wandering hands’ scandal, and his chances of reaching the final are fading fast. However, Wynne might hold on if he finds himself up against Pete Wicks in the dance-off, as Pete is also at risk with odds of 3/1.  

Pete Wicks @ 3/1 

Pete Wicks is priced at 3/1 to leave the competition this weekend, reflecting his precarious spot in the competition. While his charm and loyal fanbase have carried him this far, his performances have been inconsistent, often leaving him near the bottom of the leaderboard. Judges have criticised his lack of technical improvement, and with stronger competitors stealing the spotlight, Pete will need a standout routine to avoid elimination. The odds suggest it’s make-or-break for him this week.  

Jamie Borthwick @ 11/2  

Jamie Borthwick’s steady progress has kept him afloat, but at 11/2, he’s still vulnerable to elimination. Jamie’s understated presence often leaves him overshadowed by bolder personalities, which could cost him crucial votes. With the competition heating up, he’ll need to deliver something spectacular to ensure he doesn’t slip into the danger zone.  

JB Gill @ 8/1  

At 8/1, JB Gill isn’t the most likely to leave this weekend but can’t afford to be complacent. His likeable stage presence and consistent routines have kept him safe so far, but his performances sometimes lack the technical polish needed to stand out. If fan support falters or he underperforms, the odds suggest he could face an unexpected exit. Blackpool is within reach, but he’ll need to up his game to make it there.
