The Waratahs have a poor record against the Reds, but on their own patch at Allianz Stadium, the improving Tahs might be able to cause an upset on Friday morning (10:35, live on Sky Sports Mix).

Here's my Waratahs vs Reds predictions, including the latest odds and essential team news.

Waratahs vs Reds Odds

The Waratahs are 13/10 to win on Friday, while the Reds are 4/6 to head back to Queensland with the victory.

A draw is currently 22/1, while the Waratahs with a +1 handicap is available at 11/10.

Team News

The Waratahs go with Angus Bell, Dave Porecki and Daniel Botha in the front row, with locks Miles Amatosero and Fergus Lee-Warner in the second row.

Rob Leota, Charlie Gamble and Langi Gleeson are in the back row, with a half-back combination of Jake Gordon and Tane Edmed.

Joey Walton and Henry O’Donnell start in the centres, with Triston Reilly, Andrew Kellaway and Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii in the back three.

As for the Reds, Sef Fa'agase, Richie Asiata and Zane Nonggorr will pack down in the front row, with locks Josh Canham and Lukhan Salakaia-Loto in the engine room.

Seru Uru, Fraser McReight and John Bryant start in the back row, while Tate McDermott and Tom Lynagh combine in the half-backs.

It’s Dre Pakeho and Filipo Daugunu in the centres, with a back three of Tim Ryan, Lachie Anderson and Jock Campbell.

Waratahs to win @ 13/10

The Waratahs finished rock bottom of the Super Rugby Pacific table last season, winning just two of their 14 games.

However, the Sydney outfit have shown significant improvement this term, with five wins in their first 10 outings of the campaign.

All of those five victories have come at home, with the Tahs having a perfect winning record on their own patch this season.

On the other hand, the Reds have lost three of their last four away games and the Tahs look good value to get one over their Aussie rivals on Friday.

Double Result - Waratahs-Waratahs @ 2/1

The Waratahs have developed a strong reputation for fast starts when playing on home soil, often catching their opponents off guard in the opening exchanges.

Their ability to impose themselves early and build momentum has been a key feature of their performances at home this season.

In fact, in all five of their victories in front of a home crowd, the Tahs have held the lead at both half-time and full-time.

With that in mind, backing the Waratahs to be leading at both the break and the final whistle looks like a value play at 2/1.
