With two wins from two, Toulouse are sitting proudly at the top of Pool 2 in the European Champions Cup ahead of Saturday night’s trip to Ulster.

The Top 14 giants have been in free-scoring form of late and they will take some stopping to be denied continuing their perfect start to this season’s European campaign.

Ulster vs Toulouse Prediction

  • Toulouse -9 handicap @ 6/4

Team News

Starting with the hosts, Steven Kitshoff, Tom Stewart and Tom O’Toole have been selected by Dan McFarland to start in the front-row.

Kieran Treadwell and skipper Iain Henderson start in the second-row, while Dave Ewers returns to the back-row alongside Sean Reffell and Nick Timoney.

There’s experience in the half-backs with John Cooney and Billy Burns, while James Hume partners Stuart McCloskey in the centres.

Jacob Stockdale, Rob Baloucoune and Mike Lowry make up the back three.

As for the visitors, Toulouse have gone with a front-row of Cyril Baille, Pesto Mauvaka and Dorian Aldegheri, with Richie Arnold and Emmanuel Meafou in the second-row.

Francois Cros, Anthony Jelonch and Alexandre Roumat make up a formidable back-row for the five-time European champions.

Toulouse are still without France fly-half Romain Ntamack after his injury before the 2023 World Cup, so it’s Thomas Ramos who continues to deputise in the No.10 jersey outside the imperious Antoine Dupont.

Scotland full-back Blair Kinghorn, following his recent move from Edinburgh, is in a back-three consisting of Delibes and Mallia, while Lebel and Ahki line up in the centres.

Match Odds

Ulster are the underdogs at 19/10 to make it back-to-back wins over French sides in the Champions Cup this season.

Toulouse are favourites at 4/9 for the win at Kingspan Stadium, while the tie on Saturday night is available at 18/1.

Toulouse -9 handicap @ 6/4

Winning four of their last five games, Toulouse are a side in strong form as they make their way to Kingspan Stadium this weekend.

Beating Lyon 45-0 in their last outing in the Top 14, Toulouse will be confident of adding to their European wins this season over the likes of Cardiff and Harlequins.

Toulouse also put those British sides to the sword, winning 52-7 against Cardiff, before a 47-19 victory at Cardiff.

Ulster will be no pushover on their own patch, as they showed with their 31-15 win over Racing 92 in their last Champions Cup outing.

However, Toulouse are on another level when it comes to Europe and their attacking brand of rugby should wear Ulster down over the course of the 80 minutes.

At 6/4, and given their high-scoring form in Europe already this season, Toulouse to fall on the right side of the -9 handicap is the selection here.
