Toulon vs Bath Prediction: Blue, Black and Whites to enjoy French trip

Bath will be looking to continue what has been an impressive start to the season when they make the trip to the Stade Mayol to face Toulon in Pool 2 of the European Rugby Champions Cup on Sunday.

Toulon have made six changes from the defeat to Edinburgh, with the half-back combination of Paolo Garbisi and Ben White replaced by Mateo Garcia and Baptiste Serin.

Mathis Ferte moves to full-back in place of Melvyn Jaminet, with Setariki Tuicuvu drafted in on the left wing.

In the forwards, Gianmarco Lucchesi is in at hooker, taking Teddy Baubigny's spot, Swan Rebbadj comes in for David Ribbans in the second row and captain Charles Ollivon returns in the back row, replacing Esteban Abadie.

Bath prop Will Stuart is facing a long spell out after rupturing his Achilles tendon and he is replaced by Vilikesa Sela.

Ross Molony is in for Charlie Ewels in the second row and there is a new back row with Ted Hill, Sam Underhill and Alfie Barbeary coming in for Josh Bayliss, Guy Pepper and Miles Reid.

In the backs, Tom Carr-Smith will earn his first European start after taking Ben Spencer's spot at scrum-half and he will have Finn Russell, who takes the captaincy, next to him at fly-half.

Argentina international Santi Carreras comes in for Tom de Glanville at full-back in the seventh and final change.

Toulon's inconsistent form this season has left them third in the Top 14, five points behind table-toppers Toulouse, and fourth in Pool 2 of the Champions Cup following last weekend's loss to Edinburgh.

The French giants have lost two of their last three fixtures and they could be in for a rude awakening when hosting a Bath side who lead the Gallagher Premiership and are also top of Pool 2.

The Blue, Black and Whites have won five of their six league assignments and they started off their European adventure with a brilliant 40-14 home win over Munster.

It won't be easy to get the win at Stade Mayol, a venue Toulon haven't lost at since April this year, but the visitors are playing with real panache and they have a plethora of attacking options at their disposal.

Add in the brute power they have in the forwards and Bath are stacked in all departments, which suggests they can enjoy an impressive away success.
