After a disappointing 28-19 at Fijian Drua last time out, the Reds return to their Suncorp Stadium home hoping to return to winning ways against a Western Force side chasing a top eight finish in the Super Rugby table. They are all but assured of a play-off spot, with the Reds sitting in fifth and 10 points clear of the eighth-placed Drua, while Les Kiss’ men have also won four of their six home matches this season - losing to two of the current top three in the form of the Blues and the Brumbies.

The Force, meanwhile, sit in ninth, two points off of the top eight and find themselves in a promising run of form - with Matt Hodgson’s side winning three of their last five league matches, including a 27-7 victory over bottom-of-the-table Waratah’s last time out. Below you can find my Reds vs Western Force prediction with the latest odds and team news.

Team News

Kiss has wrung out the changes after last weekend’s defeat, with eight new faces entering the starting XV.

An entirely new front three sees props Alex Hodgman and Jeff Toomaga-Allen either side of hooker Matt Faessler in place of Peni Ravai and the benched duo of Josh Nasser and Zane Nonggorr, while Seru Uru replaces Cormac Daly in the second row.

A change at fly-half sees Tom Lynagh come in for Lawson Creighton while Josh Flook is named in the centre ahead of Taj Annan, who is named amongst the substitutes.

There are also fresh faces on both wings with the inclusion of Mac Grealy and Tim Ryan as they come in for Floyd Aubrey and the suspended Suliasi Vunivalu, who has given his marching orders against the Drua.

Meanwhile for the Force just one change is made to the starting XV who cruised past the Waratahs as Ronan Leahy is preferred over Chase Tiatia at left wing, with the Samoan remaining an option from the bench.

Reds vs Western Force Odds

The Reds are the warm favourites to claim victory in front of their own fans at 1/5, whereas Western Force are 5/1 to break their recent losing streak on the road.

The tie provides odds of 25/1, while over 53.5 total points can be backed at 10/11.

Reds win by over 12 points @ 8/11

Although they may have won each of their last two Super Rugby matches, the Force could come unstuck at Suncorp Stadium this weekend - given their poor away record this campaign.

Hodgson’s side have lost each of their last 13 fixtures away from their HBF Park home - a run stretching back to March 2023 - while the Force have also failed to score more than seven points in any of their last three on the road, conceding 113 points in the process.

The Reds will therefore have all the confidence going into this encounter and, with two of their last four victories coming via a margin of over 12 points, the Queensland side could run away with proceedings.
