Team News

New Zealand head coach Scott Robertson has gone with Ethan de Groot, Samisoni Taukei’aho, and Tyrel Lomax in the front row, with skipper Scott Barrett and Tupou Vaa’i the two locks.

Simon Parker, Ardie Savea and Wallace Sititi complete the pack, with Noah Hotham and Beauden Barrett combining in the half-backs.

Jordie Barrett and Billy Proctor start in the centres, while the All Blacks go with a back three of Leroy Carter, Will Jordan and Damian McKenzie.

As for South Africa, Rassie Erasmus has made a host of changes, including an almost brand-new backline.

Starting in the front row, the Boks go with Ox Nche, Malcolm Marx and Thomas du Toit, with locks Lood de Jager and Ruan Nortje in behind.

Siya Kolisi is handed the armband this weekend and starts in a back row with Pieter-Steph du Toit and Jasper Wiese.

Cobus Reinach and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu start in the half-backs, with Damian Willemse and Canan Moodie in the centres.

Ethan Hooker, Cheslin Kolbe and Aphelele Fassi start in the back three for the Boks.

New Zealand vs South Africa Odds

New Zealand are the 8/15 favourites on home soil to claim another win over South Africa, while the visitors are 13/8 to leave Wellington with the victory.

A draw at Sky Stadium is currently 20/1, while the Springboks with a +4 handicap are available at 1/1

South Africa to win @ 8/5

After a poor start at Eden Park last week, South Africa almost produced a late comeback in Auckland but fell to a 24-17 defeat.

The Boks would have been hopeful of ending their long wait, since 1937, for a win at Eden Park but the All Blacks maintained their unbeaten run at the iconic Auckland venue that goes back to 1994.

However, South Africa have a much better record at Wellington, winning 36-34 at Sky Stadium in 2018, before drawing 16-16 the last time they met there in 2019.

Erasmus will know his side must get off to a better start in the Kiwi capital and if they can do that, the Boks can add to the All Blacks’ woes in Wellington.

Under 42.5 total points @ 13/8

As these two goliaths of the international game go head-to-head once again, another potentially low-scoring game looks to be on the cards.

There were 41 points scored last week in Auckland, while the previous meeting between these sides ended with just 30 points scored.

With that in mind, going for the under 42.5 total points at attractive odds of 13/8 appeals here.
