Saracens begin a new era when they start their 2024/25 Premiership season with a trip to Gloucester on Saturday (17:30).

Gloucester boss George Skivington has named high-profile signings Tomos Williams, Gareth Anscombe and Christian Wade in the backline.

Wales internationals Williams and Anscombe form a strong partnership in the half-backs, while the electrifying Wade is back in the Premiership after a spell away in the NFL.

Lewis Ludlow will once again captain the side, with the flanker one of a strong back-row that also includes Ruan Ackermann and Zach Mercer.

As for Saracens, they two have an exciting new half-back combination in the form of Ivan van Zyl and Fergus Burke, with the latter making the move from the Crusaders over the summer.

Maro Itoje will skipper the side from the second row, while there is a wealth of experience among the replacements for the visitors, with Jamie George, Nick Isiekwe, Ben Earl and Alex Goode all hoping to have an impact from off the bench.

Gloucester are the 17/10 underdogs to win their opening Premiership game of the season, while Saracens are 1/2 to head back from the West Country with the win.
