There's a Last Dance feel to Saracens' current form, with more players' departures confirmed this week, ahead of a summer in which Director of Rugby Mark McCall will also step aside after 15 years to take on an advisory role at board level.

The man McCall replaced halfway through the 2010/11 season, Brendan Venter, will return to lead the team, yet it is unclear for how long.

Sarries certainly have the motivation to send the coach who led them to three Champions Cups off in style and, having won their last three matches, Saturday's guests at the StoneX Stadium could be in a bit of bother.

The Cherry and Whites have also undergone a coaching shake-up and look like a better team for it, beating Exeter and Sale in their last two league games.

However, both results were at Kingsholm and the record books show they have only won at Sarries once in the league since McCall took charge.

Team News

Wales prop Rhys Carre comes into the front row in one of two changes for Saracens.

The other alteration is also in the pack, as Theo McFarland, whose end-of-season departure to an unnamed French club, expected to be La Rochelle, was confirmed this week, starts at blindside flanker.

That means Nick Isiekwe moves from the six shirt into the second row to partner captain Maro Itoje.

Gloucester have made one enforced change from the win over Sale. Scrum-half Tomos Williams, who will join Saracens this summer, has a shoulder injury.

Caolan Englefield takes the No.9 jersey and Mikey Austin comes onto the bench.

Saracens vs Gloucester Odds

Saracens are 1/20 to make it four league wins on the bounce, with Gloucester 17/2 to record their first Prem victory at the StoneX since January 2022.

The tie is 28/1 and the handicap mark is 21 points.

The stars appear to be aligning for Sarries, and their three-game winning run has left them five points outside the play-offs, but after this match, they should beat old rivals Harlequins with a lot to spare before taking on Exeter, who were fourth at the time of writing, in a final-day showdown.

It has been a tough season, with Ivan van Zyl and McFarland's departures adding to those already confirmed as the club plot a summer overhaul.

They have also had to reintegrate club icon Owen Farrell after his difficult year at Racing 92. While it is unfair to say it, the team has gained real clarity since Farrell was benched and Fergus Burke was given sole playmaking responsibility at fly-half.

Burke may not have Farrell's kicking ability, but he is a fabulous runner, and those outside him benefit from the pace he puts on the ball.

Sarries also have a bruising pack that can outmuscle their Gloucester counterparts, providing the backs with a platform to thrive.

They have won the last seven league meetings and, after beating Sale 85-19 last month in Salford, could go big again.

Sarries won December's reverse game 30-21, and have defeated Gloucester by 22 points at the StoneX in the last two years; that handicap looks more than attainable.
