Harlequins vs Sale Odds

Harlequins are 4/5 for the win on Saturday, while Sale are 11/10 to head back to Greater Manchester with the spoils. A draw at The Twickenham Stoop is available at 16/1.

Team News

Starting with Quins, the hosts go with Will Hobson, George Turner and Joe Jones in the front row, with Chandler Cunningham-South and Joe Launchbury in the second row.

Guido Petti Pagadizabal, Jack Kenningham and skipper Alex Dombrandt complete the pack, with Lucas Friday and Marcus Smith in the half-backs.

Bryn Bradley and Luke Northmore start in the centres, while Hayden Hyde, Cameron Anderson and Jamie Benson form the back three for the Quarters.

As for Sale, the Sharks have gone with Ralph McEachran, Alfie Longstaff and Asher Opoku-Fordjour in the front row, with skipper Ernst van Rhyn and Ben Bamber in the engine room.

Jacques Vermeulen, Tristan Woodman and Sam Dugdale start in the back row, while Gus Warr and George Ford pair up in the half-backs once again.

Rekeiti Ma’asi-White and Rob du Preez are the tried and trusted centre partnership, while the visitors have gone with a back three of Arron Reed, Tom Roebuck and Tom O’Flaherty.

Sale to win @ 11/10

Neither Harlequins nor the Sharks have covered themselves in glory in the last couple of weeks, with both teams going into Saturday’s showdown following back-to-back defeats.

Sale have been thrashed by Leinster and Saracens in their last two outings but their last win was against Harlequins in the European Rugby Champions Cup.

Winning 26-17 in that European clash at The Twickenham Stoop, the Sharks continued their impressive run of form against Harlequins.

Sale have now won all of their last five games against the Quarters, with four of those matches taking place in the Gallagher Prem.

Quins have lost their last three Prem games at home, which hardly makes The Stoop an intimidating place for Sale to return to.

There’s an intriguing battle between England fly-halves George Ford and Marcus Smith that is worth keeping an eye on here.

Contrasting players, Ford’s pragmatism might not get bums off seats but it should be effective in what might be another tight game between these sides.

Sale have been there and got the T-shirt when it comes to winning at Quins and the Sharks are good value to get back to winning ways on Saturday and add to Harlequins’ woes near the bottom of the Prem standings.
