Sunday’s sole Gallagher Premiership offering sees the division’s bottom side search for their first win of the campaign as Exeter Chiefs take on Gloucester at Sandy Park (15:00, TNT Sports 1). The Chiefs have endured a dreadful season so far, losing all eight of their league fixtures, although they did win all three of their Premiership Rugby Cup contests in November to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Gloucester, meanwhile, head into this meeting in sixth place in the table and victory on Sunday would keep them firmly in the mix to make a late push for a top-four finish come the end of the campaign. Read on for my Exeter Chiefs vs Gloucester prediction, alongside team news and match odds.

Team News

Chiefs boss Rob Baxter has made three changes to the starting XV that were beaten 28-10 by Sale Sharks last time out, with two of these changes coming in the scrum.

Franco Molina and Ross Vintcent both drop down to the bench to offer international quality later on in the game, with Richard Capstick and Jacques Vermeulen coming in.

There is also a shake-up in the back seven, with Josh Hodge starting at full-back, moving Tommy Wyatt to the wing. Immanuel Feyi-Waboso is the man who is replaced.

George Skivington, meanwhile, has made two alterations from the Cherry & Whites side that started the impressive 14-0 win over Harlequins, with both these fresh faces coming in the front row.

Mayco Vivas and Kirill Gotovtsev come in at prop alongside hooker Seb Blake - who maintains his starting berth. Ciaran Knight drops to the bench to cover in the scrum, while Afo Fasogbon misses out on the matchday squad entirely.

Exeter Chiefs vs Gloucester Odds

Home advantage gives Exeter the slight advantage in the odds, with the Chiefs tipped at 5/6 for victory, giving them an implied win probability of 54.5%, whereas the visitors are at 1/1 to register their fifth win of the season.

The draw provides odds of 22/1, while both halves to end level can be backed at 50/1.

Gloucester to win by 1-12 points inclusive @ 12/5

With three wins from their last four matches in all competitions, coupled with Exeter’s horrendous form this season, all signs are pointing towards a first league victory for Gloucester at Sandy Park since 2015.

The Cherry & Whites have won two of their four away matches so far this season and both came against impressive opponents in Bristol - the league’s top point scorers - and reigning Premiership champions Northampton Saints.

While the Chiefs have lost all three home matches this season, they have managed to stay in contests for the majority of the time, with their 36-19 loss to Quins being the only occasion in the Premiership that they have been beaten at home by more than 12 points.

Each of Gloucester’s four away games this season, meanwhile, have all been decided by no more than eight points so backing an away victory by 1-12 points looks an appealing option.
