Exeter Chiefs are unbeaten at home in all competitions since October 2022 and can kick on from last weekend's win at Toulon with another victory against Munster on Sunday.

Henry Slade's stoppage-time conversion gave the Chiefs a 19-18 victory at the Stade Mayol and put them in a strong position to qualify from Pool 3.

Friday's wins for Northampton and Glasgow added a fresh look to this group but this is the game of the weekend in the pool, with Munster hunting a victory after only drawing 17-17 at home to Bayonne in their opening game at Thomond Park.

The URC champions have yet to win away from home this season, while they are also winless in two trips to Sandy Park.

Exeter lost a host of stars in the summer but Rob Baxter's young side have barely missed a beat this season and have a real chance of maintaining their fine home record by claiming another victory.

Exeter Chiefs vs Munster Betting Tips:

  • Exeter to win by 1-12 points inclusive @ 11/4

Match Odds

Exeter are the 4/5 favourites to make it two wins from two in Europe and maintain their perfect home record for the season.

Munster are 11/10 to record a first-ever win at Sandy Park, while a tie - which these two played out in October 2018 - is 18/1.

The Chiefs are 10/11 carrying a -1 Handicap and the Double Result of Exeter-Munster, as was the case in April 2022, is 8/1.

Team News

Exeter have made two changes for the match. Lewis Pearson steps up from the bench to play at blindside flanker, while wing Olly Woodburn also came on at Toulon and starts in place of Immanuel Feyi-Waboso following the latter's failed HIA.

Munster make six personnel changes and three positional alterations. Shane Daly, Antoine Frisch and Craig Casey come into the back line, while Diarmuid Barron, Stephen Archer and Jack O'Donoghue start in the pack.

Daly's selection sees Calvin Nash move from full-back to wing, while Frisch's inclusion coincides with Alex Nankivell moving to inside centre. Up front, Gavin Coombes moves into the second row to accommodate O'Donoghue at number eight.

Exeter to win by 1-12 points inclusive @ 11/4

Exeter were tipped to struggle after waving goodbye to four British & Irish Lions over the summer. However, Baxter and his staff have done an excellent job of blooding their youngsters over the last few years in anticipation of those departures.

They have beaten Saracens, Sale, Bristol and Gloucester at home in the league this season and last weekend's victory in Toulon was a real statement after some issues on the road this season.

Their last two home wins have been by between one and 12 points, while the duo's previous meetings at Sandy Park have also been close, drawing 10-10 in 2018 before the Chiefs triumphed 13-8 in April 2022.

Exeter's ability to get the job done suggests they could far exceed external pre-season expectations and they can battle to another victory on Sunday.
