With Italy and Scotland stars preparing to do battle in Rome next weekend, it will be new-look Benetton and Glasgow Warriors sides that go head-to-head in Treviso this Saturday (KO, 15:00).

Both sides are packed with international players from the Italy and Scotland squads whose focus for the moment will be on the Six Nations showdown at the Stadio Olimpico on March 9. This Saturday’s clash at Stadio Comunale Monigo offers another opportunity for some up-and-coming stars to make a name for themselves in the United Rugby Championship.

Benetton vs Glasgow Warriors Betting Tips:

  • Benetton to win @ 5/4

Team News

No less than 20 Benetton players were named in Gonzalo Quesada’s 34-man squad for the 2024 Six Nations and the majority of those will be unavailable for the arrival of Glasgow.

Former Bulls second-row Eli Snyman is set to lead a youthful Benetton side out this weekend and the South African will have a key role to play.

Much like Italy with Benetton, Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend is heavily reliant on Glasgow for players, with 15 Warriors named in their Six Nations squad.

Glasgow will likely rely on Ross Thompson to pull the strings at fly-half, while full-back Josh McKay can offer the spark coming into the backline.

Match Odds

Benetton are available at 5/4 to claim the win on home soil this weekend, with Glasgow at 4/6 to head back to Scotland with the victory. A tie in Treviso is currently 18/1.

Benetton to win @ 5/4

With so many changes to these sides due to Six Nations commitments, it muddies the waters when coming to the conclusion on a winner.

However, what has been clear is that no matter the side Benetton put out, at home, they are a tough nut to crack.

The Treviso side have not lost at the Stadio Comunale Monigo in any competition in almost the last 12 months, with their last defeat coming at the hands of the Lions back in March 2023.

This Benetton side have come on leaps and bounds under head coach and former Italy lock Marco Bortolami since he took on the role in 2021.

Bortolami’s side sit up in fourth place in the standings, with just four points between them and second-placed Glasgow, who have also impressed under coach Franco Smith this season.

With the lack of Scotland stars in their ranks, it’s a big ask for this Glasgow side to inflict Benetton’s first home defeat in a year.

Granted Benetton will be without their Italian internationals but at the Stadio Comunale Monigo they know how to grind out victories.

On a dry day with temperatures at 14C, expect both sides to throw the ball about, in what could well be a high-scoring game.

However, on home soil, Benetton are well-priced at 5/4 to claim the victory and maintain their remarkable unbeaten run in Treviso.
