It is the final day of the Gallagher Premiership on Saturday and two of the top three go head-to-head at the Recreation Ground as league leaders Northampton Saints travel to face a Bath side all but certain to qualify for the play-offs.

Bath are five points clear of fifth-placed Exeter Chiefs and require a single point to ensure their place in the top four, while the hosts could also leap into second place should Saracens lose against Sale Sharks.

The Saints, meanwhile, require just two points from their meeting with Bath to finish top of the pile and come into their trip to The Rec on the back of a 90-0 demolition of second-bottom Gloucester in their previous fixture.

Team News

Johann van Graan makes just one change to the starting XV that won 28-17 at Newcastle Falcons last time out.

Josh Bayliss starts at number eight ahead of Alfie Barbeary, who drops to the bench.

Saints boss Phil Dowson has wrung the changes from their dominant victory over Gloucester, making 13 alterations to the run-on XV, with back row Angus Scott-Young and winger Ollie Sleightholme the only survivors.

Emmanuel Iyogun, Sam Matavesi and Elliot Millar-Mills come into the front row of the scrum in place of Alex Waller, Curtis Langdon and Trevor Davidson, while Temo Mayanavanua and Tom Lockett are introduced into the second row ahead of Alexander Moon and Alex Coles.

Lewis Ludlam retakes the captaincy as he comes in for Courtney Lawes, while a change at number eight sees Sam Graham replace Juarno Augustus.

The remaining new faces are in the backs, as Tom James, Rory Hutchinson, Burger Odendaal, Tom Litchfield, Tom Seabrook and James Ramm all start.

Bath vs Northampton Saints Odds

Bath are the overwhelming 2/13 favourites to claim victory, whereas the Saints are 9/2 to end the regular season by notching up their 13th league win.

The tie provides odds of 22/1 while a Bath win by no more than five points can be backed at 17/2.

Bath to win by 1-12 points inclusive @ 9/4

Bath have won four of their last five home meetings with Northampton - as well as winning seven of their last eight home fixtures in all competitions - and they should feel confident that they can extend this impressive streak against a heavily changed Saints side.

Northampton have lost each of their last three away games in all competitions and the last two have both come via a margin of within 12 points.

Even with the high number of changes, the Saints are top of the table for a reason and will not make life easy for Bath so a close home win draws the most appeal.
