Team News

Wigan may yet make changes having only landed from the States at the start of the week, but the Warriors do name the same 21-man squad that was so impressive in Vegas.

So the only long-term absentees for Matty Peet’s men remain Brad O’Neill and Ethan Havard.

Huddersfield have had some positive news this week meanwhile, with a host of key men returning to fitness. Adam Clune is back involved for the first time this season, Liam Sutcliffe could be in line for a delayed debut having been carrying a foot injury since his move from Hull FC, and Taane Milne has been in Australia for the birth of his child.

Matty English picked up a shoulder injury last week but is named in the initial squad.

Dropping out of the Huddersfield squad are Joe Greenwood and Zac Woolford.

Wigan Warriors vs Huddersfield Giants Odds

Wigan 16-20 points @ 9/2

igan’s margin of victory - and they will win this game - will depend on how well they have recovered from their trip to America.

The champions are already in ominous form, even in March, and have won their last six home games against Huddersfield. You have to go back to 2019 to find the last Giants win here.

That said, they have never been thrashings. Wigan won 28-14 and 30-16 in two home meetings last year, 22-6 the year before.

So it could end up being closer than many feel, given the likely two-to three score victory margin.

I’m expecting a Wigan win by three converted tries or so, so am looking at Wigan by 16-20 for a bit more value than the handicap.

Jai Field anytime tryscorer @ 4/5

The odds may be shortening but that is because he is such red-hot form. Jai Field has delivered on our anytime try scorer bets in his last two Wigan outings and was untouchable again in Las Vegas.

With four tries in his last two games, he and Leigh’s David Armstrong are the two form players in Super League.

As such I have no intention of looking elsewhere for a try selection this weekend.
