Wigan Warriors and Castleford Tigers meet for the second week in a row after the world champions dumped Craig Lingard's side out of the Betfred Challenge Cup with all of our tips landing in that one last weekend, and this will be another difficult night on Friday for Cas against the Betfred Super League champions (kick-off 20:00 BST).

There won't be too many surprises in where I'm going in my Wigan Warriors vs Castleford Tigers predictions...

Wigan Warriors v Castleford Tigers Tips

  • 2-way Handicap Wigan Warriors -38 @ 11/10
  • Tyler Dupree anytime tryscorer @ 11/4

Team news

Castleford’s 60-6 Challenge Cup thumping wasn’t helped by their wretched injury crisis which saw an entire team of players in the stands. And now they have also lost Sylvester Namo for five matches through suspension.

Of those who missed out last week, Joe Westerman, Josh Simm and hooker Paul McShane remain sidelined, but Liam Watts is back in the squad after concussion and Sam Hall also returns.

Louis Senior has joined on a two-week loan from Hull Kingston Rovers and could join twin brother Innes in the starting XIII.

Wigan lost forward Willie Isa to an awful ankle fracture dislocation in the incident that saw Namo pick up that lengthy ban, and Junior Nsemba is poised to step up with Mike Cooper back in the squad following a two-month lay-off caused by a knee injury sustained in the World Club Challenge victory over Penrith Panthers. Other than that, Warriors coach Matt Peet doesn't have too many worries.

Handicap 3-way Wigan Warriors -38 @ 11/10

Wigan came up trumps for us last week in that massive win. We went cautious in the end with a 22-point handicap bet returning at 20/21, Liam Marshall crossing for the first try at 7/1 and proceeding to score four in total, and our other tip Tyler Dupree also crossing again at 4/1.

So will the Midas touch go rusty this week? Let’s hope not, this should be another big Wigan win looking at the respective squads, form and home advantage. Cas will play with spirit, as they always do, but this could be another schooling and a bet of 38 points or more seems to be the ball-park margin at 11/10.

Wigan to win -38 @ 11/10

Tyler Dupree anytime tryscorer @ 11/4

I’m going to keep backing this guy until he gives me a reason not to. As a prop forward his odds are always tempting, and Dupree is one of the best tryscoring front-rowers in the British game.

I really like 11/4 this week so let’s back the big man to come up trumps again. He already has three tries to his name in eight starts in 2024, a more than decent return for a prop forward.

Tyler Dupree anytime tryscorer @ 11/4
