Team News

Justin Olam has recovered from a knee injury and will return at centre for the Tigers, who have moved Solomona Faataape to the wing and dropped Luke Laulilii from the matchday squad.

Forward John Bateman has also been recalled to the starting line-up.

As for the Storm, Ryan Papenhuyzen is set to return at full-back after a week out with a foot injury, with Sualauvi Faalogo dropping down to the bench as a result, while Kane Bradley replaces the injured Xavier Coates.

Jack Howarth has overcome a moderate glute strain to keep his starting place, but Maroons hooker Harry Grant is being rested for the second game in a row after sitting out the Raiders match.

West Tigers vs Melbourne Storm Odds

The Tigers are 12/5 to pick up just their fifth win of the NRL season, with the draw priced up at 22/1 and Melbourne 1/3 favourites to cement their place at the top of the standings.

Handicap 3-Way - Melbourne Storm -10 @ 1/1

This game has a David vs Goliath feel about it, with table-toppers Melbourne 15 places and 16 points better off than Saturday's hosts the Wests Tigers.

The Storm extended their winning run to four matches with a 16-6 victory over the Canberra Raiders last time out, but there will have been a degree of disappointment in that performance given they passed up numerous chances to rack up more points.

It says a lot when a side is frustrated even when they are winning and they will be eager to put in a more polished display on the road, where they have won four of their last five.

Wests Tigers' mini-revival was checked last time out, as they suffered a 40-6 defeat at the Roosters, and that has left them just one place off the bottom.

Head coach Benji Marshall's side have been more competitive on home soil and they boast an unblemished record at Leichhardt Oval, winning both of their assignments here this season.

But Melbourne are a different beast and they should have enough to cover a handicap of -10, something they have achieved in two of their last three games.

Melbourne Over 29.5 Total Points @ 8/11

Melbourne were not at their clinical best against the Raiders last time out and head coach Craig Bellamy will be demanding a more refined attacking performance from his side.

The Storm have excelled in attack this season and their total of 400 points scored is bettered only by the Sydney Roosters (480).

Melbourne have scored over 29.5 points in four of their last six assignments and they should be able to achieve this once more against a Tigers side that have conceded 398 points.
