Tigers vs warriors

A finely-balanced run-in to the NRL Finals begins on Friday when the second-placed New Zealand Warriors travel to Campbelltown to face a struggling Wests Tigers (8pm local, 11am BST, Sky Sports Action).

While the Tigers keep slipping down the ladder, the Warriors are the closest rivals to the league-leading Panthers but also sit just four points ahead of the cut-off for the play-offs as things stand. Below are my Tigers vs Warriors predictions, Betfred’s match odds and full team news.

Tigers vs Warriors Odds

They might be coming into this with only one win in their last four matches, but the Wahs are clear favourites and rightly so.

Andrew Webster’s side are 2/5 for the victory in 80 minutes, implying a 71.4% probability. It’s 11/5 about the Tigers collected just a third win in 10 attempts.

You can back the draw at 14/1.

Team News

Jarome Luai returns for Wests after concussion protocols ruled him out of the defeat to the bottom-of-the-table Dragons, but Apisai Koroisau misses out with a pec injury so Josese Lanyon starts.

Jock Madden misses out to allow for Luai’s inclusion in the halves, while Sanuela Fainu comes into the second row after a foot issue. That sees Tony Sukkar drop to the bench.

Rugby League Odds

For the Warriors, Mitch Barnett and Kurt Capewell are among the reserves after representing New South Wales and Queensland respectively in the Blues’ Origin decider win on Wednesday.

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak’s hamstring issue means he’s also out of the matchday squad, so Lofi Khan-Pereira comes in on the wing. James Fisher-Harris and Leka Halasima replace Barnett and Capewell, with Halasima having shaken off a hamstring injury.

Warriors by 13+ @ 6/5

There’s just no world in which the Tigers should be a serious challenge for the Warriors on Friday, but that’s the beauty of this sport.

Wests need to seriously put in a performance for their fans, who seemed earlier on in the season to be ready for a decent tilt at the Finals. Instead, they’re back at the familiar end of the ladder.

The Warriors might not be in the greatest form, but they have far too much quality in their ranks for the Tigers to handle. And that should lead them to a fairly comfortable success at Campbelltown.

Taine Tuaupiki Anytime Tryscorer @ 11/8

Full-back Taine Tuaupiki has been one of the keys to the Warriors’ great form in 2026, and with two tries in his last four games he has added a clinical edge to his general excellence.

Given the fact the Wahs should make space on the edges against a side conceding 36 points a game over their last nine, Tuaupiki could get more than enough opportunities to cross the whitewash once more.
