Tigers vs titans

The Wests Tigers need to address their recent tailspin from the upper echelons of the NRL Premiership, and on Sunday face second-bottom Gold Coast Titans at Leichhardt Oval (4:05pm local, 7:05am BST, Sky Sports Action).

Benji Marshall’s side are on a 1-4 run in which the losses have come by 42, 28, 28 and 68 points. Here are my Tigers vs Titans predictions, along with Betfred’s match odds and the latest team news.

Tigers vs Titans Odds

Despite their recent dreadful run, Wests are the favourites to pick up the victory on Sunday, with Betfred pricing them at 4/7. The Titans are 6/4 for the win inside 80 minutes, while the draw is a 16/1 shot.

Team News

The Tigers have to make changes, and you’d expect a few anyway given their terrible 68-0 loss at home to the Panthers eight days ago.

Api Koroisau is away with the Blues ahead of the middle game of the State of Origin on Wednesday, while Jeral Skelton and Faaletino Tavana are both out from the starting XIII against Penrith.

Sunia Turuva and Heamasi Makasini slide from the centres to the wing spots to replace them, while Mavrik Geyer is relieved in the second row by Tony Sukkar and Charlie Murray’s place at loose forward is taken by Sione Fainu.

Elsewhere, in come Taylan May and Starford To’a to play in the centres. Back from suspension, Patrick Herbert is named on the interchange bench.

Rugby League Odds

Josh Hannay is without Tino Fa’asuamaleaui and Jojo Fifita as the pair prepare to line up for the Maroons in Origin II.

That opens up a chance for Klese Haas at prop and Jaylan De Groot in the outside-backs.

On the bench there’s no Chris Randall, who failed a HIA in the shock win over the Broncos. Luke Sommerton, Max Feagai, Adam Christensen, Josh Patston and Jett Liu are in line to step up to the bench.

Tigers by 1-12 @ 21/10

It says much about the Titans’ season – and maybe Brisbane’s by extension – that a week on from beating the champion Broncos, Gold Coast are not backed to beat a Tigers side who have been battered so heavily of late.

And I can’t blame the bookies either. With no Tino and no Fifita, they are missing two of their very best players, and while Wests are tanking following that wonderful start I can still see the home side responding with a win at Leichhardt.

They have May back, To’a is in, and while Koroisau is a miss, the likes of Jahream Bula, Turuva and Makasini should be expected to step up.

Jarome Luai owes them a performance too, and Marshall will have given every last one of them a rocket this week. Get on Wests to bounce back, but not by much.

Jahream Bula Anytime Tryscorer @ 4/5

Bula is a wonderful strike weapon when the Tigers halves are on, and if he can connect with those inside him he has every chance of crossing.

He has six tries to his name in nine appearances thus far in 2026, so the 4/5 about him scoring at an implied 55.6% probability is on the generous side.
