NRL action takes place at the Allianz Stadium on Sunday when the in-form Sydney Roosters take on top-eight chasing St George Illawarra Dragons.

Roosters have won their last three games to climb up to fourth on the ladder and now face the eighth-placed Dragons, who bounced back from their defeat to the Manly Sea Eagles with a 26-6 win over the fifth-placed Dolphins last time out.

  • Over 52.5 Total Points @ 10/11

Sydney Roosters vs St George Illawarra Dragons Odds

Sydney are the firm 2/9 favourites to chalk up their 11th victory of the season, with the draw priced at 22/1 and St George Illawarra 100/30 to get the win that would boost their hopes of a top-eight finish.

Team News

Sydney will be without Joey Manu for a month after he suffered two fractures in his hand last week, with Michael Jennings named as his replacement in the centres.

Having come off the bench last time out, Lindsay Collins has been reinstalled to the starting side for this contest, with Terrell May reverting to the interchange.

As for the Dragons, they have made just one alteration to their side from the win over the Dolphins, with winger Zac Lomax fully recovered from a shoulder injury and taking his place in the starting line-up.

Handicap 2-Way - Sydney -12.5 @ 10/11

Sydney recorded a comfortable 40-6 victory over the Wests Tigers last time out, extending their winning streak to three matches and putting them firmly in the mix to advance to the finals series.

The Roosters have been exceptional in attack, scoring a division-leading 480 points, and they already have fond memories of facing the Dragons this season after winning 60-18 in April.

It has been tough for teams to stop Sydney from scoring and this attacking flair is expected to be on full show when they host St George Illawarra, who have conceded 352 points from 15 games.

The Dragons have been inconsistent over their last five matches, winning three and losing two, and a suspect defence will find it difficult to stop the Roosters from cutting through them.

Having blown Shane Flanagan’s men away in April, Sydney look more than capable of covering the -12.15 handicap, something they have done in six of their last seven victories.

Over 52.5 Total Points @ 10/11

With 78 points witnessed in April's meeting, there is nothing to suggest this won't be another high-scoring encounter and over 52.5 points looks like a solid bet here.

As mentioned earlier, Sydney are the leading scorers in the division and over 52.5 points has landed in five of their last nine assignments.

The Dragons have also been involved in some attacking games and over 52.5 points has copped in two of their last five fixtures, while they have scored 20-plus points in three of their last four matches.

The visitors will have revenge on their mind after the April mauling, and while that may bring about a more refined display in attack, they are still showing vulnerabilities in defence and Sydney will be ready to exploit this.
