London Broncos vs Hull KR Predictions: 5/1 King to cross in the capital

For once, the London Broncos are the form team going into their Betfred Super League clash with Hull Kingston Rovers at the Cherry Red Records Stadium on Sunday (kick-off 15:00 BST, live on Sky Sports Arena).
The Broncos chalked up a first win of the season against Hull FC in round 11, while Rovers have lost back-to-back games in league and cup to Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors. But how much will that play a part in my London Broncos vs Hull KR predictions?

Team News
The Broncos make two enforced changes to the side which beat Hull FC 34-18 at Plough Lane last time out. James Meadows is out due to injury, while Harvey Makin is back at Wigan Warriors after the expiry of his two-week loan deal.
Jack Hughes and Matt Davies step up as Mike Eccles’ side look to follow up that first success with another encouraging outing.
Willie Peters will be expecting much better from his Rovers side after their first-half submission in the 38-6 hiding to Wigan at the semi-final stage of the Betfred Challenge Cup last Saturday.
The Robins coach is missing tryscorer Joe Burgess from the side which lost out in Doncaster, with Connor Barley, Jack Broadbent, Jack Brown and newest signing Danny Richardson coming into the 21-player squad.
Richardson has been snapped up from Castleford Tigers for the remainder of the season as half-back cover, and just as his predecessor Ben Reynolds did when the Broncos visited Craven Park earlier in the season, the former St Helens scrum-half could come off the bench for his Rovers debut at some point on Sunday.
2-way Handicap: Hull KR -30.5 @ 13/8
Despite, or maybe because of, the relative fortunes of these two sides in their most recent fixtures, I just can’t see London winning back-to-back games. Willie Peters has been known to give his Rovers side a real serve whenever they turn in under-par performances, and this week ought to have been no different.
That should see the Robins deliver a real statement following their cup exit, and Mikey Lewis could lead a performance similar to the one which saw Rovers take a 40-4 lead into the break against the Broncos back in April.
As such, I like the look of the higher handicap market, with Rovers available at 13/8 to win by at least 31. That’s a margin which would have come in for eight of London’s 11 losses in all competitions so far in 2024.
George King anytime tryscorer @ 5/1
I could pick Ryan Hall, or Peta Hiku, or Mikey Lewis. Every one of that trio is likely to cross at some point. The price of 6/4 at an implied probability of 40% for any player to score a hat-trick also had me slowing my scroll through the markets. But George King is what really got me thinking.
The big prop forward doesn’t score often. His last try came in Round 14 of last season’s Super League at Magic Weekend against the Salford Red Devils. But he’s done a lot of hard yardage for the Robins this term, and coming off the bench has tended to help him to pound at tiring defences.
If the Broncos start to slip off the tackles around the time King takes to the field, I can see him crossing from close range to justify this particular stab at a 5/1 shot.
