Hull KR vs Castleford Tigers Predictions: 14/1 tryscorer tip in Rovers win

After being deposed as Betfred Super League leaders by Wigan Warriors on Tuesday, Hull Kingston Rovers will be looking for a quick return to the top when they face Castleford Tigers at Craven Park on Friday (kick-off 20:00 BST, live on Sky Sports+).
The Robins were brilliant winners at Warrington Wolves last week, and there’s a great expectation of them backing up with another victory as I present my Hull KR vs Castleford Tigers predictions.

Hull KR vs Castleford Tigers Odds
Rovers are massive favourites, with Betfred pricing them at 1/20 to win in 80 minutes against a Cas side who sit in 10th spot but ran KR close in the recent clash at Wheldon Road which ended with Jez Litten securing a 13-12 away victory with a late drop-goal.
The Tigers are a tempting 9/1, with a draw in regular time available at 33/1.
Team News
Rovers name all 17 of those who featured in the defence masterclass at the Halliwell Jones Stadium seven days ago, with 18th player George King joined by Matty Storton and former Cas pair Danny Richardson and Jack Broadbent filling out the 21-man selection.
Storton was suspended for the trip to Warrington after being censured for a stray boot against London Broncos, but he’s back in the picture for Friday.
There’s no Corey Hall for the Tigers against his parent club, whom he will leave at the end of his loan spell with Castleford. Hall misses out due to concussion symptoms. Coach Craig Lingard has said pre-match that Fletcher Rooney will be replaced by Jason Qareqare, who returns from injury.
Hall is the only absentee from the squad which lost to Leigh Leopards last weekend, with Luke Hooley, Liam Watts, Liam Horne and Nixon Putt all stepping in to Lingard’s initial 21-player squad.
Hull KR by 21-25 points @ 11/2
Rovers’ elevation to the top of the table broke a 39-year run without ever being at the summit in the second half of any season. It may have only last for four days, but they get the chance to regain the supremacy for at least 48 hours by beating Cas.
And I think they will be good for it. The win over Warrington was arguably only their third real 80-minute performance this season, but the fact they have 15 victories from 20 despite not always being switched on throughout games shows what a powerhouse they have become.
That said, they will know from their visit to the Jungle recently that a 40 or 60-minute showing might not be enough against the Tigers, so I expect them to be on it for the full night in front of another packed house at Craven Park.
I envisage Rovers turning it on and the 21-25-point bracket at 11/2 and an implied probability of 15.4% is more than tempting.
Matt Parcell & Tyrone May to score a try anytime @ 14/1
I’m going to go bold this week. Rather than just go with one or another of Rovers’ main strike threats, I’m taking up the chance to go for two in Betfred’s #PickYourPunt list.
Matt Parcell continues to provide a really dynamic edge to the Robins’ attack despite him being allowed to explore free agency at the end of the season, while Tyrone May is truly thriving now as part of a brilliant half-back pairing with the majestical Mikey Lewis.
So, the 14/1 price has drawn me in. If Rovers are to score 30-plus, which I can see happening, then these two could well be among those to cross.
