Hull KR will be looking to secure their place in the Betfred Super League playoff semi-finals when they host Leigh Leopards on Friday night.

These two sides have already been involved in some brutal encounters this season, including in the Challenge Cup final, when the Leopards landed a golden-point drop-goal to lift the famous old trophy.

Having secured a big win over Wakefield Trinity last time out, the Robins finished in fourth spot to secure a home eliminator against Leigh, who themselves are seeking to move within 80 minutes of the Grand Final.

Hull KR vs Leigh Prediction

  • Hull KR -6 handicap 3-way @ 11/10
  • Josh Charnley – Anytime Tryscorer @ 5/4

Team news

Robins head coach Willie Peters has made two changes to his 21-man squad for the visit of Leigh on Friday night.

Rhys Kennedy and Jimmy Keinhorst have been brought in to replace injured duo Dean Hadley and Rowan Miles.

Meanwhile, Leigh will be without experienced back Zak Hardaker due to a hand issue but have no other injury concerns ahead of their trip to east Hull.

Hull KR -6 handicap 3-way @ 11/10

After the disappointment of their 17-16 loss to Leigh in the Challenge Cup final in August, Hull KR gained a measure of revenge in their Betfred Super League meeting later that month at Craven Park.

Having thumped Leigh 52-10 in that league meeting, Rovers boss Peters will be hoping for a repeat performance when the Leopards return to east Hull on Friday.

Given the pressures of play-off rugby, it’s highly unlikely that the Robins will run away with proceedings in the same way, but they might well fall on the right side of the six-point handicap set.

Hull KR have warmed up for the play-offs with five straight league victories whereas Leight lost four of their final six regular-season games, squandering their hopes of playing at home in this eliminator.

A home win for the Robins by more than six points at 11/10 is certainly worth considering.

Josh Charnley – Anytime Tryscorer @ 5/4

With an impressive 26 tries for the Leopards in the Super League this year, it has been another excellent campaign for veteran winger Josh Charnley.

Only Tom Johnstone and Abbas Miski (both 27) scored more tries in the regular season than former Wigan and Warrington star Charnley.

The Leigh winger has scored four tries in his last three Super League meetings with Hull KR and looks good value at 5/4 to add to his tally on Friday night.
