Hull FC vs Wigan Warriors Prediction: Value in backing visitors on handicap

Champions Wigan head to Hull FC looking to avenge their Betfred Challenge Cup exit at the hands of the Black and Whites last month. (Kick-off 3pm)
The Warriors have beaten leaders Hull KR, rivals St Helens and hammered Salford since back-to-back defeats to Leeds and Hull, so this one should be a Sunday afternoon cracker at the MKM Stadium.

Team News
Hull FC head coach John Cartwright makes two changes to the side who lost the most recent derby against Hull KR last weekend.
Will Gardiner and Harvey Barron are both back from injury and are named in an initial 21-man squad. The men dropping out are Jordan Rapana who has a groin strain and on-loan prop Sam Eseh who is unable to face his parent club.
A lengthy Hull injury list still includes Liam Watts, Ligi Sao, Jed Cartwright, Jordan Lane, Brad Fash, Oliver Holmes and Ryan Westerman.
Wigan boss Matty Peet also makes two changes from the Good Friday win over Saints with two key men available to return.
Goal-kicking centre Adam Keighran and England prop Luke Thompson are back, with their returns pretty timely due to a couple of injuries. Prop Patrick Mago has a hamstring injury so misses out and Tyler Dupree failed his Head Injury Assessment so is sidelined by concussion protocols.
Hull FC vs Wigan Warriors Odds
Hull FC are 3/1 to win inside 80 minutes, the draw can be backed at 20/1 and a Wigan win is priced up at 1/4.
Handicap 3-way Alternative 1 - Wigan Warriors -14 @ 7/5
This is the third meeting between these two teams already in 2025, with two very different outcomes so far.
When Wigan won 46-4 at the MKM Stadium in February, few would have anticipated the Warriors would go on to lose a couple of games thereafter and end up being knocked out of the Challenge Cup on home soil by the same team. But that is exactly what happened in March when Hull roared back to win 26-22 at Wigan.
So there should be a fair bit of extra spice in this fixture and the crowd and atmosphere should give the home side an extra lift.
But I only ever judge these things on the quality of the two squads and I do still feel that Hull have been over-performing and will come undone against the champions.
Wigan are starting to purr as the weather warms up and I have them down to chalk up a victory on the road. The handicap is 10 which feels about right, It could be closer, but I always feel that if Wigan gain a narrow lead they can very quickly turn the screw. So I'm chancing my arm at a little extra value with Wigan to win at -14 with odds of 7/5.

Jai Field anytime try scorer @ 10/11
I called it very early in the season that Jai Field looked in great shape and he is now enjoying a real purple patch. A loyal returner on our anytime tryscorer bets this season, Field has come back from injury on fire, with five in his last three games since missing the surprise defeat at Leeds.
The flying full-back grabbed another couple in the derby win over Saints last week, and to be honest right now I rarely even check the odds for Field to score a try when he is on the field as I know that will be my tip regardless.
