Eels vs Tigers Prediction: Benji’s boys to keep on rolling in Sydney showdown

The NRL Premiership’s Easter programme comes to a close on Monday with what should be a hugely-entertaining clash between the Parramatta Eels and Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium (16:05 local, 07:05 BST, Sky Sports Main Event).
All four Eels games so far in 2026 have featured a half-century of points, while Benji Marshall’s Tigers have turned up the heat with two wins in three. My Eels vs Tigers predictions follow, along with full team news and Betfred’s latest odds.

The home side have the slight edge in the minds of the oddsmakers, with Betfred pricing the Eels up at 8/11 for the two points against their western Sydney rivals.
Wests are 6/5, implying a 45.5% probability of them adding a third win in four to begin the campaign. The draw is a 16/1 chance.
It’s a pretty close-run thing on the two-way handicap too, with the Tigers handed only a 2.5-point advantage. They’re 5/6 to make the most of the added start, with the Eels 10/11 to bridge the narrow gap.
Team News
There are a couple of changes to the Eels’ look this week, with Isaiah Iongi out with an ankle injury and replaced at full-back by Joash Papali’i.
Matt Doorey’s ACL issue means there’s a space on the interchange bench for Charlie Guymer, and Jack de Belin also finds himself included among the six substitute options.
There’s no change in Marshall’s first 17 following their win at Mount Smart against the Warriors last week.
Former Warrior Bunty Afoa replaces Tristan Hope at 18.
Tigers by 1-12 @ 5/2
Wests have upset a few people already in 2026, and I just can’t bring myself to back an Eels side which has shipped 152 points in just four matches this year.
While they have been excellent with ball in hand, and really made the Warriors pay 10 days back, the best thing about the Tigers so far has been their defence.
A side which conceded 28-plus 11 times in ’25 has so far conceded just 50 in three matches. They look far better drilled as a unit without the ball, and have lost none of their flair when they regain possession.
I just don’t see the Eels having enough to contain the Tigers given the issues Jason Ryles’ side have had in D so far. Arguably the biggest threat to this 5/2 pick is the thought of Wests winning by three scores or more.

Eels Under 22.5 Points @ 6/5
This is a Parra team which beat the Broncos 40-32 three weeks ago and followed up by seeing off the Dragons 30-20.
And I’m backing them to fall below 22.
But here’s why: They came across a carefree Bronx and a basement-dwelling St George over that 10-day period, whereas at Melbourne and Penrith they were decimated in spells.
They still went on to score 20 against the Panthers despite being well beaten 48-20, but when the heat has been turned up by sides in decent form they have been brushed aside.
So I can see a durable Wests defence holding the Eels to four tries or fewer, and the 6/5 odds are favourable to like-minded punters.
