Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC Prediction: Field day ahead for the reigning champs

Betfred Challenge Cup holders Wigan Warriors host Hull FC on Saturday as firm favourites to progress through in a competition the Warriors are 2/1 to win at Wembley again in 2025. (Kick-off 17:45 GMT, live on BBC Red Button and BBC Sport online).
Wigan have looked untouchable since their surprise opening-round Betfred Super League defeat at home to Leigh Leopards, and have already beaten Hull this year, with a thumping eight-try 46-4 away win. My Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC predictions won't hold too many surprises, and they follow below along with full team news and Betfred's match odds.

Wigan Warriors vs Hull FC Odds
Matt Peet's Warriors are about as heavy a favourite as you'll find any Super League club against another top-flight side this season, with the 1/11 available for them to complete the job in 80 minutes sending punters looking for value in the handicap brackets.
Hull, for what it's worth, are a 13/2 chance, implying a 13.3% probability of an upset, while the draw is available at 25/1 (3.8%).
The two-way handicap market has been planted at 18.5 points, with Hull FC 5/6 to make the most of the three-score start. Wigan are 10/11 to beat the disadvantage in that scenario.
Team News
Wigan are again without winger Abbas Miski, who missed out against the Huddersfield Giants last week through injury. Prop Patrick Mago is back from illness having missed out on the 44-18 win, while youngster Jacob Douglas comes in to replace Miski.
The rest of Matty Peet's squad is otherwise unchanged.
Hull received a big boost with the return to fitness of Zak Hardaker for the first time since the opening day of the season. The former Man of Steel has been struggling with a groin injury.
Prop Yusuf Aydin is out with a hip injury and fellow prop Sam Eseh is ineligible to play against his parent club. Liam Watts is cup-tied since his move from Castleford Tigers.
Handicap 2-way: Wigan -18.5 @ 10/11
Wigan put Hull FC to the sword last month with a 42-point Super League win, and I have seen nothing to suggest that this game will follow a different path.
The Warriors are running hot, and look ominously close to their best so early in the season.
Hull, on the other hand, may be showing signs of improvement from last year's horror show but they are still some way off being able to compete with the likes of Wigan, and I see a pretty comfortable progression through to the next round for the Challenge Cup holders.
Last week's thrilling 22-22 draw with Leigh was a huge effort from Hull FC, and I do wonder how much that will have taken out of them heading into this weekend.
Wigan have won their last seven home meetings with Hull FC dating back to 2019 and they will make it eight here. Can Hull make a game of it? Potentially, but I'm still leaning towards another statement performance from the home side at an implied 52.4% chance.

Jai Field anytime tryscorer @ 10/11
Why change a winning formula? His odds may be shortening with every sensational performance, but Wigan's star full-back has stood out for me since round one.
If he is at the top of his game, very few defences can live with Jai Field. And right now he is at the top of his game.
He has scored five tries across the last three gameweeks to sit joint-top of the Super League try charts, and there will be more points for him here.
Even at another 10/11 shot, he feels like good value.
