New York Lotto Big Winner: Pensioner scoops £100k

A pensioner from the Midlands has hit the big time after scooping £100k on the New York Lotto at Betfred.
The gentleman, who wished to remain anonymous, correctly selected numbers 6, 15, 21 and 38 to be drawn on Saturday night to a £4 stake at odds of 25,000/1 - just a few weeks after pocketing £1.3k from a treble.
When asked how he came to choose his numbers, he said: “I can’t exactly remember how these ones came about, but I have been playing them for about four or five years now.
"I had a win on three numbers at the start of the year and won £1.3k, so I left a little bit in the account and increased my stake slightly.
“It wasn’t until Monday morning that I checked the results. I have the site saved in my phone and I realised pretty quickly that they were my numbers. I play a few different lines, have done for a while and they are all written down.
“I have had this feeling recently that I was going to hit the jackpot. I had a heart attack last year so I couldn’t get myself too excited. I needed to stay calm.
“The wife didn’t believe me at first, but she does now and I’m sure she’ll be spending it soon.
“We are both pensioners on set incomes, so there won’t be anything lavish. I plan to pay off a few bills and get some work done on the house that needs sorting."
Betfred boss Fred Done said:
“Huge congratulations to this winning pensioner. I hope it brings plenty of joy and they get everything they want done on their house, with a little bit left over to enjoy themselves.
“Lottery wins can change lives and paying out big money for small stakes is what I love hearing about.”
The New York Lotto takes place every Thursday and Sunday.
