Asked about selecting his numbers, he added: “I suppose they are random to a degree. I actually look at previous draws over the last week or so and see what has been popular and select those. So somewhere between random and some sort of form study!

“I change my numbers every week or so, that is my method. I have also played the French Lottery and won £7k on that last year, but that was for three numbers.”

In terms of plans for the money, he said: “We want to upgrade our house and get something bigger, so that is what we will now do!
